Are these mostly for older toilets? We have 1.6gpf toilets and I worry that if I order these and use them, there may not be enough flushing power.

I would be careful. You may just have to try it. The newer toilets are designed with the express goal of water conservation and probably make the most of each ounce of it. If your newer toilet is 1.6 gallons per flush, which is common, then this product would cut you flushing water in half, which may have a performance impact. If the toilet could work with half as much water, why didn’t they just design it that way? It doesn’t just depend on your toilet, it depends on the path the waste water takes through the pipes in your home. There must be enough pressure or water to coney all the stuff. The major driver for these products is old tank toilets that use 5 or 7 gallons per flush. Those could, in most cases, easily afford to cut out .8 gallons and still perform as needed. People with older toilets like that should definitely get a product like this.
