I ordered this for my mom; she loves this product and has been using it for years. It is good for pain all over the body and seems very effective on shoulder, back and neck pain. This is also a really good deal, as she typically pays around 25 dollars for one stick. However, It may be difficult to apply yourself for back pain, so if you don't have someone to assist, I would recommend finding a cream version or spray pain relief product.
