Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life

Excellent YA story
My daughter writes teaching materials for students reading young adult books, which she provides to middle and high school teachers, so I often read new releases and make recommendations to her. This is one of the best YA books I've read, with a story young adults can relate to, many subtle positive messages for youngsters, and a youth-oriented mystery theme. Highly recommended. R.C. I really recommend this one
This was a quirky, enjoyable book. Some of the scenarios are a little far fetched. I mean, they could definitely happen, but for them to work out just exactly as they do is a little out there. Honestly though, I have to say that this book is worth overlooking that minor flaw. There is a lot of good to be gotten from this book. The characters are ... interesting and, in most cases, pretty odd. They are fun to read though and, overall, pretty likable. The message is a great one and it’s delivered in a pretty beautiful way. My 13 year old son read this for a book report. He was a little unsure at first, but he ended up really liking it. He kept saying how awkward the main character was. He’s about my son’s age and I thought it was funny to see how he felt about the odd things the main character would do, compared to how I felt. I found them funny and quirky. He, being that age, found them funny, but embarrassing and thought that he was “so weird”. If you’re thinking of reading this, I’d say go for it! It really was a good book. I think it was a great book for a preteen/teen to read too. It’s one that I’m actually a little surprised that I don’t know any teachers where I live that have decided to read it to the class or have it as a required read. It really is a good one. Also, if you’re interested, I really like the audio version. At first I was unsure about the person they have performing the audio, but as the story went on I realized he was pretty perfect.

The Key is Determination
Unlike any other book I have ever read, this one is quite the drama! It has everything a good book needs: Comedy, Drama, Mystery, Pain and a bit of an unknown type of genre. It is almost like a puzzle, which you have to figure out while your reading; so you are reading while trying to figure out something - unknown. Jeremy and his friend, Lizzy, are on a journey to open up a box - a box sent from Jeremy's dead father. They go everywhere, they take all of the opportunities to find it - they do not give up! They went everywhere possible - everywhere - just to find that key, that key, that will open up the box... will they find it? Will they?

My comfort read.
Purchased this book because I remembered loving it as a kid and I was right. Such a comfort read for me, perfect for early high school or middle school aged kids.

Amazing!!!
We had our 3rd grade gifted students read it for class so I wanted to be able to discuss the book with them and gave it a read. Once I started I could barely put it down. This book is full of incredible life lessons that even an old man like me learned a few things. I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful this book has been for me or my students!

Amazing
It helped me take my mind off of dying. It was funny and good all around. I liked the way they talked through notes in between the wall.

Meaningful read
This was a delightful book! I am an elementary teacher who was introduced to this author by my ten year old niece. I have now purchased this book several times for friends and family, and have accompanied each gift with a rock. The story is meaningful for anyone who has had a hiccup or two in their life - children and adults alike. I do recommend this book for anyone grade 4 and above. It is a book that boys or girls can read and both can find meaning.

We really like it! I read this aloud to five children ...
We really like it! I read this aloud to five children from the age 15 down to 3. No other review, that I read, mentioned the chapter about the ouija board and the section about the visit to a spiritualist meeting/church so I thought I would

Good
A grate book but it takes to long for Jeremy and his friend Lizzy to find the keys. To spite that it is awesome!!!
