And by that I mean a lot more than usual, using a proper paint stirrer or a wooden spoon. A stick won't do it. The darker pigments settle into a thick mass at the bottom of the tin. Initially, despite having stirred it with a stick, I thought the colour was nothing like that advertised, being a lot lighter. If I hadn't realised the problem, by the time I got to the bottom of the tin it would have been an extremely saturated/sickly colour. This possibly explains some of the negative comments about the colour. I bought 3 tins. 2 needed a thorough stir, one didn't, so I guess it must be a storage/time issue. The paint covers extremely well and needs relatively little preparation other than removing grease with white spirit and a light sand or sugar soap on most surfaces. It also needs several days, even up to a week to completely cure before it becomes fully resistant to chipping... but that's normal with any furniture or metal paints. It does NOT fully cure after a few hours as suggested on the tin. Highly recommended!! We paired it with a Dulux Sage Green and it looks amazing. The bottom 1/3 of the room is wood panelling so it went onto that. However, it does need a little touching up already as when the new carpet was brought in, simply brushing against it has taken some off. But if you're using it on an area that won't be touched, even better. I did think I would only need a single coat as I have done in the past with the grey coloured one, but I needed 2 coats to make the colour just right.
