Baja Basics Rice Water for Hair Growth, Leave-In Spray, 4 fl oz

DECEMBER 10, 2025 5th Review 4th UPDATE January 2026 will be three years since I have been using Baja Basics Rice Water for Hair Growth. Everything I have written in my past reviews are still correct. When I washed my hair today, I saw just 3 strands of hair in the shower hair trap. Very, very little shedding. That brings me to why I am updating my review now for you. I recommended two shampoos (actually one was a body wash from the brand Naturium Multi Vitamin Body Wash, not a shampoo) to you in past reviews. Today. I want to recommend a third. It is NATURIUM The Calmer Ceramide Body Wash which I use as a body wash and shampoo. I began experimenting with it for the past two months. For me, this is the holy grail and I feel no further urge to keep experimenting with new products to pair with the Baja Basic. The Naturium Calmer Ceramide Body Wash dispenses full luxurious foam. Elegant. Gentle, Yet cleans hair and scalp thoroughly. Hair is shiny. Very little shedding. HEALTHY HAIR is the final result. Used as a body wash, it nourishes the skin into youthful luminosity. Dryness disappears. I noticed how beautiful the skin on my neck looks now. Wow! (Price went up a dollar to $16.95. Worth it.) When I first bought Baja Basic Rice Water 3 years ago, I bought it for hair growth. I had a huge bald spot on the crown of my head the size of a bread and butter saucer. The bald spot was the result of wearing sun hats for 15 years. Now, my hair is full, healthy and gorgeous and I continue to use the Baja Basic. I like the way it gives my hair body so there is no need to use styling gels. Optimal health for beauty spills over into happiness. That is what I am sharing with you. You matter. You count. And you might as well look gorgeous while you are going about living life. Big smile! ********************************************************* JULY 16, 2024 4th Review 3rd UPDATE I continue to use Baja Basic Hair Growth Elixir even though the big crown bald spot from wearing sunhats for 15 years went away totally in May of 2023 and never returned. Thanks to the Baja Basic Hair Growth Elixir. My hair is full and healthy. The Elixir works best for me when my hair is dried after shampooing and then the Elixir is sprayed on dry hair. It gives body, hair strength, and just enough elixir gets to my scalp. It does NOT work to saturate the scalp and roots. So DON'T over spray. Last year I recommended a shampoo made from Pomegranate & Honey from the brand MIELLE to go along with the Baja's Hair Elixir. (Information about it can be found below in the review dated May 24, 2023.) Now I am recommending another shampoo for you to use with the Baja Basics Hair Growth Elixir. This is a body wash that doubles as a shampoo. This body wash rinses off easily without leaving a residue. It makes my skin moist and takes away all dryness so my skin is radiant and soft, thanks to this body wash. The brand is NATURIUM and it is The Multi Vitamin Daily Nutrients Body Wash. It contains Omega Fatty Acids, Niacinamide, Panthenol Plus Amino Acids and Minerals. Used as a shampoo it STOPS HAIR FROM SHEDDING! It gives hair superb body, and is not drying at all. (The MIELLE was a little drying to my hair. Good for people with oily scalp which I don't have.) The NATURIUM Multi-Vitamin is NOT drying at all. I like NATURIUM better than the MIELLE shampoo. It lathers really great so not much product needs to be used. It is $15.95 for 16.9 Fl OZ. The NATURIUM cleans the scalp fantastically just as the MIELLE does. It is a about $4 more than the MIELLE, to me it is worth the money. I like both shampoos. But having a body wash double as a great shampoo is a big plus factor for me. Especially when it cleans so well without stripping and stops the scalp from itching. I still use the MIELLE once in awhile. So I have two great alternatives. A side NOTE to consider: If you are using any product on your hair or body that contains jojoba oil, castor oil, rosemary oils or grapeseed oils then these two shampoos will NOT work for you. Why? Castor oil and jojoba oil are depilatories. They cause hair follicles to weaken and die and hair on your scalp or pubic area, or eye lashes will fall out or shed badly. Rosemary is a neurotoxin. So Rosemary oils and extracts cannot be used on a regular basis or eaten often. Many people don't know that, so please read up on neurotoxin and rosemary oils and rosemary herb. Grapeseed contains cyanide. So does apricot kernel and oil from peach pit. Avoid cyanide containing oils from fruit pits and seeds. A common emulsifier is xanthan gum which is made from the bacteria xanthamonus campestris. Xanthan gum is in drinks, foods, in so many products. It can cause hair to shed and cause skin problems digestion problems, and when it used in baby formulas, it killed the babies. The bacteria ate the stomach lining and even the stomach of the babies. In many countries in Europe it is banned. In the United State for awhile there was a push to have xanthan gum removed from food and drinks but the manufactures changed the name to gellan gum and used it anyway under that different name. The food and drink industries refused to stop using it. Xanthan gum is made by putting the bacterium in soy, corn, or milk and letting the bacterium eat those items and poop out the gum. So xanthan gum is bacterium poop. You can see the bacterium when carrots, or squash or fruits rot and get black. That black thing is the bacterium. You will see huge improvement in your health and hair when you avoid the poisons. Take good care of your health and beauty will follow. I wish you great health and beauty my friend. My past reviews are below. ******************************** May 24, 2023 3rd Review, 2nd UPDATE: FANTASTIC NEWS! Big crown bald spot from wearing sunhats for 15 years is totally gone! Yes! Yes! Yes! I began to use this product on January 2nd of this year. Right away I had body with no greasy hair. About 20 days later, little tiny hairs about a quarter inch long started to sprout all over my scalp. Now, Four month later there is NO bald spot. There are hairs about two inches long covering the bald area so that spot is history!! I found that this product worked best after I shampooed my hair and let the hair air dry. Then spray the rice water. If I used the product when my hair was wet I tended to use too much product. When the hair is dry I spray enough to give my hair body. That's it. You will find you will have excellent body instantly! I began to use a new shampoo about a week after I started to use the rice water, so the shampoo could be contributing to the fantastic result of full head of shiny hair. If you are interested here is the name of the organic shampoo. I need to share with you while I gave the rice water 5 stars I gave shampoo only four stars. The one reason was because the shampoo made my hair just a tiny bit dry. I wrote a review for that shampoo. But that shampoo cleaned so well without drying the scalp so the scalp stopped itching. It gave my hair great body, too, like the rice water. It is called Mielle Pomogranate and Honey moisturizing and detangling and hydrating shampoo for type 4 dry hair curly hair straight hair to restore and repair. It is $12 for 12 fluid ounces, so a dollar an ounce. It is made by Mielle Organics. I know you will LOVE the shampoo! I cannot do without the shampoo and rice water. Thanks to these 2 products I have a full head of shiny hair. I also began to take new vitamins that could have contributed to the fantastic results. If you are interested in the vitamins let me know. There was a space where people could message someone on a review they wrote but that capability may have been removed by Amazon. Not sure. UPDATE: January 23, 2023 This product gives body without any greasy weight. It leaves hair full with strength in each strand of hair. There are little hairs sprouting all over my head. I am taken off guard because I didn't expect such positive results from any product. I am in a state of disbelief. Nothing in my life has worked this well without major effort on my part. In this stunned state, I will give this product another month to see if the positive results will continue. My first review is below this line_____________________________________________________ My hair has noticeable body. The effect was immediate. Since hair grows half an inch a month, it will take time for me to see if this product really enhances hair growth. I have been using it two weeks. What I like about this product is there is no stickiness while at the same time, it provides body, I plan to reorder in the near future and for me, it is worth giving it a try for two months. That is a lot of time for me, since I usually give a product a day or two only. There is nothing negative about this product, hence the five stars.

This rice water has been amazing for my hair! I've been focused on improving my hair health, and this was one of the products I decided to try. After using it for over two months, I'm really happy with the results. The scent is light and refreshing-never overpowering-which I really appreciate. I also love that it's made with natural ingredients, as I avoid harsh chemicals in my hair care routine. The spray nozzle makes it super easy to apply, and a little goes a long way, so the bottle will last for quite some time. how I use it: - As a detangling spray every time I wash my hair. It works well to detangle while also adding hydration and shine. - As part of my nightly heatless curls routine. I spritz it on before wrapping my hair, and it helps give my curls more definition and shine. I had a lot of split ends from using heat on my hair last summer, and I feel like this product really helped manage them. I recently got a haircut (pictures are pre haircut) and am excited to see how this continues to support healthy growth, shine, and fewer split ends. This has become a staple in my hair care routine, and I'll definitely repurchase it. Highly recommend!

Spraying this into my hair every day makes it super soft and manageable. I don’t know about growth yet but will review again. Even once dry my hair is soft and fingers slip right through easily. That’s not usually the case for me. The scent is nice and light too. I have made rice water myself and it was funky as a teenage boys jock strap or sneakers after practice. But this nicely rose petal fresh.

This spray does everything it promises to do and then some! I love it. It can be used on damp or dry hair. I tried both methods and while I do achieve results both ways, I prefer to use it on dry hair. Does a beautiful job of detangling and adding shine to my hair while keeping frizz away, even on the hottest and most humid summer days. Keeps hair nice and moisturized. Doesn't weigh hair down or make it look greasy. Dispenses evenly mist form. Has a nice scent though it doesn't last long. I've been using this daily since summer arrived and its helping tremendously. The price isn't just good, its a steal for how well this works. Since it dispenses in a light, mist form, not much product is used with each spray. (I use 3-4 spray's worth daily on my thick, shoulder length hair) This bottle will last me a long time. Can be used on all hair types. Its available on Amazon's 'subscribe and save' plan. There's a good reason this is an 'Amazon's Choice' product. (For those not familiar: "Amazon's Choice highlights highly rated, well-priced products available to ship immediately.) I love this spray and WILL continue to purchase and use it. Its' a 'must have' in my hair care routine!

The smell is great. If you're not a fan of rose I can say imo that is doesn't smell like the typical rose scent that products usually have. It's fresher and more floral than rose. Almost like hyacinths and carnations which are my favorite. It detangles very nicely. Other than that I can't say much more about it that's good. It is a heavy glass bottle, which will resist breaking easily. After one full bottle that didn't last long at all, Maybe two weeks if that. I didn't see any difference from using it. To mean it seems that it would take several months of using everyday to get results. I have long hair past the middle of my back but it's thin, very thin and like mentioned already the bottle lasted less than two weeks. In fact after a week it was almost gone but stretched it to last longer. I won't be buying again the price is just too high for how long it doesn't last.

After spraying this rice water on my damp, freshly-washed hair and then blow-drying it, I was pleasantly surprised at how soft, manageable, and full of volume and body my hair was. That was yesterday, and today my hair feels and looks just as good as it did after being washed and dried. This stuff really does what it’s supposed to. I have low thyroid, so my skin and hair are dry. I have to use a lot of conditioner, and that includes a leave in AFTER using a wash-out conditioner in the shower, for my hair to behave and look moisturized and polished. I decided to spray this rice water into my hair and rub it into my scalp after conditioning in the shower, and after I dried my hair, it actually had a slight curl at the ends and no frizz. Now, my hair reacts terribly to humidity, and I will be interested to see if it goes lank even after using this product. Otherwise, my hair feels and looks strong and healthy, and the rose scent that some say is too strong isn’t. I will be purchasing again. I’m also going to look into purchasing a race-water based shampoo and conditioner. There are several vendors on Amazon (Viori is one) who sell these in bar-form, and I’d like to ditch the bottles besides. I’m hoping that using these natural, rice-water based shampoos and conditioners will complement the leave-in rice water spray I’m using now, and that this will help me turn a corner towards an improved head of hair and towards more natural and healthful hair and scalp maintenance.

This new product from Baja Basic is a great addition! I'm glad the BB is also offering hair care products, with the same healthy quality of the others. I used this conditioner as a "leave in" and I really loved the results. I use it right after my showers but also on dry hair. I have long hair and on windy days it will get all tangled up. Once at home, I would brush it and get some breakage. Not anymore!! :) Since I got this conditioner, I spray the bottom of my hair as this is where it gets tangled up, and brush in it like butter! After my shower I also spray from mid length to the tip of my hair and brush through it effortlessly. I also do the same in the evening, as I always brush my hair and make a braid before going to bed. This conditioner enables me to brush through. So much easier, no fighting, no breakage and my hair is so soft and silky. Though it is not indispensable, I love the subtle scent of wild roses! So natural and enjoyable :) like the yummy scent of BB "Collagen Boosting Facial Serum", it's an additional bonus! As for the repair of split ends, or the growth improvement, I can't say as so far I have abundant hair and no split ends. In case someone wonders about it, the ingredient "Msm" (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane ) found in this Rice Water is the ingredient promoting hair growth. I don't like this product; it really damages my hair. Don't deliver any more. I canceled.

i honestly was not expecting much from this product as hair care products are usually pretty hit or miss for me, but the other glowing reviews intrigued me so i took the risk. to preface, i used to manage a hair salon so i’ve tried QUITE a few products. WOW am i glad i did. i have been using this about a week and a half and the GROWTH i’ve seen is insane. my baby hairs are sprouting like crazy and even little patches that were getting sparse are filling in. the best thing about this product is that unlike a hair growth oil or treatment you don’t need to rinse it out and it is completely light and non greasy even though i have very fine hair. it makes my hair soft shiny and bouncy and i’ve actually ditched a few other products (shine spray, volumizing spray, etc) because this one has been doing it all for me. the smell is really nice it’s just a light rose smell i personally really enjoy it. i will literally be stocking up on this and never stop buying it as i’m obsessed. take the risk and try it!!

I was skeptical about rice water for hair but I decided to give this a go. My hair hasn't bn colored for 2 years so most of my hair is virgin hair. I used this post wash and masking as part of my styling process. Instead of applying leave in conditioner, I used this producted from my mid length to end lightly and applied my heat protectant before blow drying my hair. My hair came out so smooth and shiny and alo feels stronger. Have done this three times and has had consistent results. I know you can use it as a prewash treatment but I do like it this way. Definitely recommend.

This is the best product believe me you wont regret plus its cheap. The smell is a a plus point its so so good. Plus I have curly hairs it helps me a lot to detangle my hair and luckily its made of all best ingredient.

I liked the smell, I love the smell of fresh roses and that is the scent, not artificial. The first time I used it I thought it made a difference in the feel of my hair volume and at first I thought I may really like it. The next few times I used it I saw nor felt any difference so I have to agree with another reviewer that this will likely just make your hair smell nice but that’s it.
