Impeccable pen
This pen is not only solid and well built, but seems to glide on the paper when you write. Great pen for working on your cursive. For whatever reason, whatever I write with this pen just seems classier.

Very satisfying for a first-time fountain pen user. Nice box was crushed in shipping.
For years my usual pen has been some time of fine-point rollerball, but I felt like they moved too freely over paper, not providing enough tactile feedback. I stumbled across the idea of a fountain pen and watched several videos reviewing different brands and models. The Lamy Safari was frequently mentioned as a great starter fountain pen.I chose the Safari because I didn't want to spend too much on a pen I wasn't sure I'd like. No local stores sell fountain pens that I could try out and I didn't know which size nib to get. The Safari has easily changed nibs, so if I didn't like the one I bought, I could try another. The Safari I bought has a fine nib which I find very close to the 0.5mm rollerball pen I had been using.I like everything about the Safari - there's been no skipping when I write, the ink seems to flow evenly. Having spent a few decades in application development and using a keyboard for several hours a day, my handwriting has become a mess and a combination of cursive and printing. Now that I'm retired I've begun writing a journal of memories and find that my printing is much neater than my cursive. This pen has performed well in that function. The fine nib does provide a light, scratchy feedback and helps me control my letter formation. It's not often that I say I "love" a product, but I love this pen, especially at the price this Amazon seller charged. My only complaint is that the nice box the pen came in was crushed in shipment since it was shipped in a padded envelope. I don't care about the crushed box, but if I was going to give a Safari pen as a gift, I would probably seek out an online retailer and contact them to make sure the pen was shipped in a more protective manner (and I'd probably have to pay more for that protection....)

Quality Starter Pen
This is the first fountain style pen I've used. Been writing with it for a few days, written about 3 pages of tests and 7 pages of actual journaling. It's alright, I don't think anyone would buy this and get something they don't enjoy. The pen itself is fairly attractive, the clip is useful and aesthetic, the nib doesn't tear paper at all, the cap fits over the nib with a satisfying click and the cap will post snugly on the rear of the pen.I've included some examples of me writing/marking with the pen. I think there is some "sweet spot-ism" with this pen, I often have to readjust speed or angle to get the desired flow. I do think that is just a feature of the style of pen, and not this specific pen, but I may be wrong. I find my hand tiring rather quickly compared to other writing utensils, probably due to the care I take in holding the pen in such a way as to make satisfactory marks. I have used this pen on a few kinds of paper. It writes no matter what, but the nib has trouble drawing ink when I write in a journal which requires a lot of backtracking and recovering of lines. The ink was fairly easy to install.Overall I think a beginner would enjoy learning to write with this, and someone who is already familiar with fountain style pens would rate it a quality experience.

Smooth, Reliable, and Perfect for Sketching
The Lamy Safari White Fine Nib Fountain Pen is one of the finest pens Iโve ever used, especially at this price point. The nib is smooth, precise, and perfect for both note taking and my primary use, urban sketching. I pair mine with a Lamy ink adapter so I can use waterproof ink, which makes it ideal for adding watercolor washes over my sketches. Thereโs a reason Lamy is considered one of the bestโquality, reliability, and great value. Iโve purchased many of these over the years, and they remain my go-to pens for just about everything.
