I returned it because my own requirements for what I was looking for in my next watch changed. So it was 100% my fault for being indecisive and I appreciate that Amazon makes returns so easy. Swiss watches are expensive and unless you are rich, you won't be making the decision lightly. A robust return policy really helps a lot. Thanks Amazon!Now on to the watch: Though I only had it for a few days and only wore it for a few hours, I was very impressed. Pictures really don't do it justice because what you can't see in the photos is that the dial is embossed with a wave pattern that changes as you move it around. If you are old enough to remember the "hologram" toys that you could find in a box of CrackerJacks back in the '80s then you'll have some idea of what I'm talking about. But in this case, instead of revealing a cheesy picture of a superhero or whatever, the hologram shimmers in an eye-catching and appealing sort of way. It's very elegant.I've never owned a Certina before, but from what I know of them, they are a true Swiss company. Owned by the Swatch Group and they use movements from ETA, another Swiss company. There are always allegations and cynical assumptions swirling around the rumor mill that Swiss watch companies will get away with whatever they can in terms of importing parts from other countries. But Swiss laws are very strict and from what I hear, the Swatch Group has actually been lobbying for even STRICTER laws, which seems like an odd thing for a corporation to do, UNLESS they are trying to thwart low-cost competitors who are importing cheap parts. If that's the case, then good for Swatch (and, by extension, Certina). In short, who knows if this watch has any foreign parts or not, but for all intents and purposes, it's as Swiss as a pot of Fondue. And at this price point, that's a pretty good deal.This is clearly a dress watch, and would look great peeking out from underneath a suit jacket. The band was a bit stiff, but I'm quite sure it would have softened if I had worn it for a few weeks. I'm not a fan of old-school tang clasps because they crease and wear out the leather, so I like the deployant clasp on this watch much better. It seemed to be keeping good time during the short period I had it - about 5 seconds per day fast, which for an automatic (mechanical) watch is really good.(Side not about automatic watches: I see so many reviews of other automatics by people who were expecting Quartz accuracy. Automatic watches are absolutely NOT going to be anywhere near as accurate as quartz. Look, if we were all Mr. Spock and did things strictly according to logic, then we'd all certainly buy quartz watches because they are cheaper, smaller, lighter, and waaay more accurate. But we're NOT all Mr. Spock, and to some of us, quartz watches are about as desirable as day-old french fries. So it all depends on your philosophy - if you are just looking for something that stays accurate and doesn't cost a lot, then enjoy your quartz watch. But if you're fascinated by a timepiece that requires no batteries, one that becomes like a symbiant on your arm, bleeding a little bit of your human kinetic energy in exchange for telling you the time and looking great... if you're that kind of person, then welcome to the world of automatic watches.
