Review: Great Tried & True Welding Hood - It's a good sturdy welding hood for either new comers or old heads. Headstrap fits fairly comfortably granted you have a decent welding cap. Lens is pretty good for what it is, it's plastic sonirs more durable than a glass lens. The adjustability of the hood is also okay, mostly only the position the hood has over your face can be adjusted as well as the headstrap. Review: HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE HOOD - If you work in a dirty environment like construction/pipeline/etc. then this is probably the best hood you can buy for your money. I stray away from those expensive fancy hoods cause I know they will just get tore up in my line of work. Who wants to spend $250+ on a hood that’s gonna get majorly abused? Not me. That being said, the pipeliner is by far my favorite hood I’ve owned. It’s light, simple, and practical. I don’t have a huge head or long neck so I take a wrap-around and chop a good 1 1/2” off the throat of the hood. A lot of guys do this. I would say, for newer welders, slap a good ArcOne 2x4.25 auto darkening lens in that hood and you’re good to go. For YEARS.
