WMFGourmet Egg Slicer, 15 x 11 cm, Cromargan Polished Stainless Steel, Dishwasher Safe

Absolut unbrauchbar, wenn man sauber geschnittene Eischeiben haben möchte. Wir haben das Gerät mit mehreren Eiern ausprobiert. (Ca 10 unterschiedlicher Erzeugung) Weich und hart gekocht. Jedes Mal zerreißt es das Ei, vor allem an dem Ende, an dem der Schneider schließt. Auf dem Bild ist der extreme Fall dargestellt, bei dem es fast ganz zerrissen ist. Wir haben schnell und langsam geschnitten. Es scheint als seien die Drähte der Schneiders zu dick. Mit unserem 2 Euro Eierschneider davor konnte man perfekt die Eier schneiden...der Preis dieses Eierschneiders ist absolut ungerechtfertigt und bei der Marke WMF sind wir besseres gewohnt. Kann ich dringend von abraten! Preis Leistung stimmt gar nicht! Bzw der Schneider tut nicht, wozu er da ist.

Decided to go for this top quality stainless item (albeit at a price) after reading poor reviews about some of the cheaper metal slicers. The high quality of this item is evident. It will clearly outlast me & some.Bought to replace my existing egg slicer which I reckon was purchased 45 years ago & was Mouli brand. Probably cost less than £1 back then. Mouli don't seem to offer an egg slicer these days. Things aren't made to last like they did in the 1960's but I cannot grumble about my old slicer which isn't actually broken & still works fine but is getting a little rusty now but just on the hinges. This old one looks very similar to all the metal ones currently available on Amazon which from the reviews (broken wires) do not seem to last long anymore?

I hoped this would be the last egg slicer I bought. Having bought and broken 2 recently I decided to spend the extra on this one (im not a careless user so that wasnt good news one was a cheap one the second a steel one but both ended up with snapped wires)). It looks better than most slicers. It is bigger than any other slicer Ive seen.Its a balancing act some slicers have thinner sharper wires, this one has heaver wires which dont cut as effectively but are probably less prone to breakage. None of my egg slices are neat. Wish I could return it It wasnt worth the extra cash im afraid.

Nice looking egg cutter ,well made and should last for years. Unfortunately the stainless steel wires are not very sharp and I,m unable to get a clean cut without it tearing the egg. This is most disappointing considering the brand and price.I will therefore be returning it and will look for a replacement. I was thinking about buying more in the WMF range but after this experience I will probably look elsewhere.Update: Returned to Amazon and purchase Leifheit egg slicer which is far superior.

Expensive? Yes. But the quality justifies it. It is really made of stainless steel and it is dishwasher safe (washed it a number of times since buying and there are no strains on it left). And it cuts eggs with ease (didn't try mushrooms though, yet). After trying a couple of other and spending £££ on trawling through the supermarkets, this is the final choice for me.
