I have a small apartment and I hardly have any more room for all the sewing stuff I already have. So I say that because in pattern making there are huge hole punchers that cost a lot just to punch a circle in the pattern and put a hook on it so you can hang your patterns up so they wont bend or get dirty/rip.So since I didn't have the space for a gigantic hole punch I bought this in the hopes that it could and would punch through my paper patterns as well as a little thicker poster board when I transfer my patterns to poster board.This punch works perfectly for it! It is not hard at all to use and it uses no space at all in my tiny sewing room. My pattern hooks fit in the 1" hole perfectly. I love this puncher and I will be ordering another one, because in sewing..I always seem to loss stuff in my sewing piles and having another one for back up will be a must. I also like that there is a piece of plastic under neath that catches the shape.
