Ok i know This did not say it was an SSd but in this day and age i was expecting that it would be just a warning to all who read this but i am not knocking stars for that i am knocking a single star just because it uses a Seagate 1TB drive. i have had noting but problems with Seagate drive. Me personally will never use them for system backups as they keep failing on me i recommend using this just to transfer files like a jumbo flash drive or just as a backup that you have 3 other copy's of.

I wanted a high capacity external USB-C hard drive, because I don't like to clog my laptop's hard drive with files. The Silicone Power 1TB USB-C external hard drive fit the bill perfectly. It worked instantly right out of the box. I was transferring files to it a minute after I plugged it into my computer's C port. I was surprised at how quickly large video files transferred to it and that it was fast enough to play back the videos I put on it without a hitch. It works seamlessly with the Win 10 file management system. The Silicone Power 1TB external hard drive is a great product that does exactly what it claims to do. I would definitely buy another one if the need arose.

Bought one for work a few years back. It's been flawless. My wife recently ascended to the same job- got her one....and she's up and running. Tough and spill proof. We move it around a lot...often outdoors. Never fails and easy to see with the orange bumpers. Perfect for road warrior admin geeks.

Well this applied to me. At first connection it did not work, BUT... open Disk Utility and click on the drive-- go to the erase tab. There is a pull down menu asking what to format it too, mine was ghosted but it did let me pull down to the Mac OS. click on that, hit erase and give it a new name--hopefully you are all set when it finishes.

I wanted to clean wipe my computer of all the junk on it I am unaware of and start fresh so I bought this product to back up all my music and pictures. It looks awesome and feels durable and fits like a cellphone in my hand. I transferred 100s of gigs of data in just a couple min it was so fast I am very satisfied with this product! 5 Stars from me!
