It is made in the same way a regular baby diaper is made. Thin plastic on the outside with velcro type closure. Very thin layer of a porous material (not sure of kind) over an absorbent pad on the inside. I think someone would have to be very creative to use any part of it as a substitute for a mask.

How small is XS? Will this work for a 2lb elderly pet rat?
