A wonderful starter furnace. Well made and fully functional and would recommend to anyone getting started with foundry work.

Over all this is quite a good little unit. I wish the tongs were sturdier. I have used the furnace to melt several hundred aluminum cans, some brass and even some copper. The heat generated is sufficient to get good pours, but the tongs are just too weak to hold the crucible steady. I have been using a second support at the base of the crucible to help steady the operation, which helps quite a bit. Also, after using the tongs for a while the jaws no longer align and have to be reset. The handles slowly bend inward toward each other, making the grip weaker over time. Gently reshaping the tongs every once and a while is working so far, but I expect they will need to be replaced sooner that they should. Still, in the end, I would definitely recommend this unit for a hobbyist.

To begin with.. the materials used in the furnace construction and gas adapters are all A1 top quality.. important to me. Super easy to operate.. I am a first-timer and my first metal pour from scrap sterling into a mold proved it.. lol There is a lot of fun involved, even a sense of accomplishment. The crew at Cast Masters are very helpful, great communication and support. I am thoroughly satisfied and would recommend their products without hesitation.. I bought this product as a way to handle a high quantity of aluminum cans in a small organization. Not only is this cast master unit safe, but very efficient, and includes “everything” you will need to smelt nearly any metal. We have gathered other metals to smelt just for fun. I like the unit for its stainless composition, but also it’s ease of use. No question this unit will be with us for a long time!

As a child I dreamt of learning the art of blacksmithing. Now, at age 21 my dream has become a reality, made possible only by this amazing product. It is very easy to use and mimics a bunsen burner in several aspects. It is portable and easy to clean. I especially enjoy the fact that it heats my metal evenly while not radiating too much extra heat. It is superb and brought my dreams to life!

I received this Furnace as a gift. First of all, the packaging was complete with no broken parts that I could see. The kit came complete with regulator, crucible, tongs, fire brick, and furnace. Set up was pretty easy however I had an issue with the regulator and the hose going into the burner assembly. Could not get the unit as tight as I wanted to without feeling like I was going to break something. Overall in my first melt I went through one and a half bags of aluminum cans and now have roughly 8 pounds of aluminum. This is a great product to get started and learn with. My only negative comments are regarding the regulator hose. The threads on the fitting that screws into the burner assembly were very brittle and needed to be cleaned prior to getting a good seal. In addition, the regulator assembly did not have a good information sheet on how to Get to full power. Lots of popping going on despite adjusting the air inlet. Regulator and hose could be better, hence the 4 star review. Other than that I have over 25lb of aluminum melted since Xmas. Great unit despite hose.

I recieved this as a present and within an hour of taking it out of the box I was melting aluminum. Have used it to melt brass and copper also. It is very fuel efficient even when doing long heats. I watched a video on how to adjust the airflow and regulator for optimum performance and it has worked great for me. The tongs that come with it aren't the best as they could break the crucible when lifting a heavy load of metal.

Awful, literally destroyed on the inside, ceramic wool bits and pieces of plumbing everywhere, completely unusable, I will be returning this disaster and I suggest you take you business to someone who makes a decent product OR make your own, for 300 dollars you can make an amazing furnace.

The construction of the product is pretty good. The setup is quite simple and it heats up quick. Kaowool could have been put in a little better but was in place when opened and seem to stay in place. Over all good product in my opinion.
