What valve or regulator do I use with this tank?

These are the new style valves. If using on a grill you will need a 5 lb regulator

Is this tank pre- purged ?

It has a tag that says it is pre-purged, but the tank I received leaks. It leaks propane through a defective weld. Since I tried to have it filled, so I can't send it back.

How many lbs. of propane will this hold?

The correct answer is 4.6 gallons.

What is the expiration on these tanks?

These tanks are good for 12 years from the manufacture date. If you are buying from Amazon directly (as opposed to a 3rd party seller) then the tank will be new, within a few months of the manufacture date.
