Lightweight and easy to use
ASUS ZenScreen 15.6” (MB166C) - I travel and work from the road frequently. At home I have 2 24" monitors but on the road I was relying only on my 13.5" laptop, which made me less efficient when working with several documents or spreadsheets at the same time. Amazon has many choices, including some brands I have never heard of, at cheaper prices. I went with ASUS because me and my family have had several ASUS laptops all of which have been great. This monitor checks all the boxes for me. At 15.6" it still fits in my travel laptop/electronics bag, it is lightweight and seems well made. The only connection is the included USB-C chord and all I have to do is connect it and the monitor comes to live. The display is great for what I need, spreadsheets, documents, and watching movies/videos. I am not a gamer so I cannot speak to whether this unit would be good for that. The monitor comes with a storage sleeve that folds to double as a stand. It's a simple setup but works for me There are a couple tabs that keep the monitor from sliding off the stand. I did not notice this at first but once I figured it out, I am quite happy with how it works. One thing to keep in mind is that because the laptop feeds power to the monitor, the laptop battery runs out quicker (on my laptop it reduces battery life by about half), so you will need to have your chord and have access to power if you plan to work long hours. Overall, a great buy and I am very happy with it.

Excellent travel monitor for my needs
My job is typical "technical road warrior". Lots of computer time on the road, in hotels, etc. For my use case, this monitor is just right. Being able to run the laptop display and the Asus as the extended desktop makes work so much easier, especially when you're accustomed to having both displays. The case folds up to become the stand. Not the most physically robust stand in the world, but adequate. And more importantly, it's light and compact. Just be sure to get a USB-C 3.2 cable. These will typically say "video" or "4K UHD" in the description. Not all USB-C cables will work. If you get a "no signal detected", it's probably not a defective display, just a USB cable that doesn't support video. My laptop, a Dell Latitude 5490, has Power Delivery on the USB-C port. As I write this review the laptop and the Asus display are running just fine on battery. As others have noted though, the Asus display can ONLY be powered by the USB-C port, so you have to plug it into a device that supports PD. Not having a separate power supply probably keeps the size, weight, and cost down. For me that's important. The brightness is just fine and the screen resolution is excellent. I'm not a gamer so no opinion on how it might work for that purpose. Overall, I recommend this Asus display if you are looking for a compact second monitor to put into the computer bag to help with productivity while on the road.

Will work for the price
So far, I am so good, and I use it less than 3 to five times per week. I own a cyber security firm we use our computer equipment 24/7. I am moving from a Mac to Dell / Windows because most of my client base is Windows users. So what better way to understand their headache than have them myself? That being said, the monitor is clear and easy to see, connects without issues, is the perfect size to fit in my laptop bag, is lightweight, and the tripod mount on the back is the ideal way to set it up; it is very flexible and sturdy with the right tabletop tripod. The only issue I have, the cable is too thick and stiff, and the ends are too large. Simple fix, right? Well no. I've tried different cables Windows will only detect the monitor using the cable that came with it. This leads me to believe that the large size of the ends is due to an embedded chip—a second issue. The case on the monitor feels very flimsy and plasticky. This may be okay; I am used to the substantial feel of the Mac products' aluminum cases. Even my new Dell mobile workstation is made of solid aluminum as well. And for a mobile device to last miles of travel in a laptop bag, it has to be made well. Time will tell. It is an okay portable monitor. Is it the best? No, not by any means, but I didn't pay $500 for it. Then, would I want to travel with a $500 monitor in my bag? Probably not. Bottom line, for the price, it will get the job done.

A must have for those who are very mobile during their day
I use this for work daily. Absolutely love it! Fits perfectly in my backpack. The case it comes with is soft and foldable to become a stand. Part of me would prefer if it was a hard case but honestly it's perfectly fine. VERY lightweight. Could chuck this thing like a Frisbee (don't). I have the one without battery. I actually recommend this over the one with battery. My husband works in IT and the ones with battery die ALL the time and become unuseable. His work has tons lying around that are worthless now. So I highly recommend you go with this one that doesn't have a battery. Speaking of battery, this one plugs into my Thinkpad and my battery will last 2 hours long in meetings with constant use. Without the screen plugged in I get maybe 30 min-1 hr more. So for me, the drain is negligible. Visual quality of the screen is solid. I'm easy to please but it impressed my techy husband, so I guess that's saying something. Already convinced several of my coworkers to purchase as well!

It works great for business travel.
I have used this product for almost a year. I use it for business travel. I use it when working at the airport, hotel, or in conference rooms for workshops. It has been great. No complaints. It just works like you need it to. I like that it gets power from my laptop and it doesn't required another power source. The fabric sleeve that is also the stand has worked great. Its very easy to pack up the monitor with your laptop and move. I use it with my Dell Precisions 7680 laptop.

Doesn't come with Adobe code in box
Warning about Adobe Creative Cloud Code: As someone who buys many hard drives that come with Adobe Codes (stored on the hard drive themselves), this was a huge incentive to purchase this monitor as it claimed to come with a code for 3 months of Adobe Creative Suite. It took 2 weeks to get this monitor from Amazon, and I was out of town for a few days. Upon returning, I promptly opened the box and started looking for the code. I wrongly assumed that the code would be in the box. There was nothing about the adobe code in the box so I almost initiated the return right then. I checked the box and manual inside and out multiple times and there was nothing about the Adobe code. But then it occurred to me that maybe I need to check Asus's website. I checked it out and sure enough I found the information I needed. It required me to register for an Asus account, provide an Amazon receipt, take and submit photos of the unit showing the serial number, fill out a form or two. In all probably took about 30 minutes because the first time the website froze (on their end) and I had to restart the application process. After submitting the application, the website said it was successfully submitted, and that I would receive my code in 10-14 business days. I received no notification email saying I submitted an application. Even checked the spam folder. On the 15th business day now, I still haven't received my code. I checked the Asus website multiple times and while there is a record of the application being submitted, it doesn't state the date I submitted or any sort of status. Just some weird wording that is not coherent. So I am returning the unit because of this. It feels deceptive for them to say it includes 3 months of Adobe Creative Cloud, and then to receive the unit without the code in the box. And then to jump through all their hoops and still not receive it is not acceptable. Asus seems to have other "Campaigns" with their products, so be aware that those are probably along the same lines of hassle. The Monitor itself: The monitor itself is not great. I have wanted a portable monitor for awhile. It it mostly not great due to the quality. Sitting next to my M1 Macbook Pro it is so dark even on the brightest settings. I played around with the settings a lot to get it to an acceptable point of brightness, color, and contrast. Also only one usb-c port on the monitor isn't great. I feel like it should have come with at leat an HDMI or mini-HDMI port on the unit as well. I wouldn't recommend this monitor.

Stunning, Thin product
This is such an amazing, portable product. The clarity and color is pristine, vibrant, and pleasant. The screen slides into padded sleeve. When the sleeve is removed, it folds into a monitor stand. The stand seemed a bit awkward at first, but after understanding how to use it I think it works great! (fold and attach Velcro end to the other end, choose one of the two incline angles and lift the appropriate flap to hold the monitor in position). There is no place to store the cable, so I have to plan where to pack that when I travel. I don’t jamb it in the sleeve to avoid a strain on the monitor case or cracking screen while traveling. I can’t think of an elegant alternative that Asus could have done, and making a place for that in or on the outside of the sleeve would make it more bulky or awkward. This is the only downside. The screen performance, thin profile, and excellent product build quality far outweigh this inconvenience.

Decent Monitor, But Lacks Brightness
Review: I recently tried out the ASUS ZenScreen 15.6” 1080P Portable USB Monitor (MB166C) and while it has some good points, I found it lacking in a few key areas. Here's my take: Pros: Portability: The monitor is lightweight and easy to carry around, making it a potential choice for those on the move. Eye Care & Anti-Glare: The Eye Care feature is a thoughtful addition, and the anti-glare surface helps in reducing reflections. Warranty: The 3-year warranty is a nice touch, giving some peace of mind for potential durability issues. Cons: Brightness: The most significant drawback for me was the brightness. Even when powered correctly, it felt too dim, especially when compared to other monitors like the UPERFECT QLED Portable Monitor. Powering: While it's USB-powered, ensuring the right power input to get the best brightness can be a bit tricky. In summary, the ASUS ZenScreen 15.6” 1080P Portable USB Monitor (MB166C) might work for some, especially if you're in a controlled lighting environment. However, if you're looking for a bright display that shines in various settings, you might want to consider other options. I ended up returning mine due to the brightness issue.

Great monitor and easy to set up
I got the MB166C after spending far too long looking at the differences in the various models that all look the same. From what I could tell there is negligible difference between the models. This one is brilliant though, use it with my Dell work laptop to remote work on the move a lot easier. Very simple to use, just plug in the USB-C and it's ready to go, nothing to install or set up. The case that doubles as a stand isn't the sturdiest so potentially worth investing in the stand but it's good enough for me and if you're set up on a sturdy table you should have no problems as it comes. Picture quality is good. Brightness is good too, have used it working out in the sun on bright days and can still read the screen easily too.

One of the better plug and play 15inch portable monitor
A 1920 x 1080 resolution with only a single cable (30W) is great, without the need for external power, you can also adjust the brightness which is a plus point. the cover comes as a portable stand for the monitor is a major factor why I got this product, pricing is awesome too.
