Reprint of rare pattern book
The end of the eighteenth century in England saw the advent of architectural treatises from a variety of authors. William Fuller Pocock is rarely known today and it has been interesting for me to see his books now being reprinted. Unlike the Adam brothers, he was not at the cutting edge of fashion or architectural theory, but fully represents the mainstream of the architectural profession. This book serves to round out a larger collection of similar books for me. It is interesting in that aspect, but if one does not have books by, say, the Adam brothers, Chamberlain (The British Architect), or Batty Langley, this should wait.
