Both provide a comfortable, smoothing, and slimming effect. I’m 45 and have a deflated-looking tummy from 3 c-sections and a sedentary lifestyle. I’m 5’4”, 150-160 lbs, size 12 pants, and the Medium/Large size works well.These photos show brand new Simiya shorts (left) vs. Spanx Power Panties (right.)Here’s what I like about Simiya:1. Waistband is elevated a few inches to prevent tummy muffin-top. The Spanx ones hit right at the waist and don’t keep the tummy in as well.2. Silicone at the waistband helps keep the shorts up and in place and prevent roll-down.3. Don’t have the center seam from waist-to crotch in front and back like Spanx.4. These are easier to get on and don’t require the gymnastics and strength needed to get the Spanx on (you can see in the pics how much smaller the Spanx are.) You’d think being smaller they’d cinch you in more, but they don’t. They both provide the same amount of slimming and cellulite smoothing.I cannot attest to the longevity of the Simiya since this is my first pair and they haven’t been washed yet. My Spanx always last for years with washing on cold/delicate and hanging to dry. I never put them in the dryer. The one flaw is that the seams at the crotch area will not last after wearing for only 1-2 times.
