Works great but helps to have a helper at times
This film was purchased for some narrow windows that have a lot of heat from the sun during the day - desert southwest area.Be careful in applying the film. It doesn't tear very easily, but it sure likes to curl while the backing is on. There are a few tricks in applying the film to the window. The window needs to be absolutely clean, and not too cold or too hot.Use the "tape" trick to get the backing removal started. A couple of short pieces of tape makes it soooooo easy.Use LOTS of a wetting agent (you can make your own if you like with a little dish soap and water) on the window just before you apply the film, and even spray the side of the film that will contact the window. You want to be able to move the film around a bit as you work with it. If you skimp on the wetting agent and the window and film dry too soon, you'll have trouble.Just a note, the proper side of the film seems to have a mild adhesive and feels a bit tacky. The side of the film that goes on the window is the same side that the clear backing plastic is attached to. i.e., the clear plastic protects the window side. I think people that complain about the film not sticking have applied the unprotected side towards the window, and then peeled the clear plastic as if its a metal finish protectant. Doing this results in the sticking side being out away from the window - not good.Have plenty of single edged razor blades for trimming. The film dulls the blades quickly, so don't script - use a new blade as soon as it becomes at all difficult to trim the film on the window. And yes, when properly applied the film will stay up for a long, long time. (Give it a couple of days at least to dry and adhere before you start cleaning the window film.) It cuts the heat noticeably as soon as it's up. Will have to wait a few years to see if it cuts the UV/sun fading as well - but I expect it will. The helper comes in when it's time to strip the clear plastic, and putting the film up at first for larger/wider windows. Don't let the film curl on itself when the clear plastic is removed. It'll ruin the film.

Works as advertised. When installing make sure windows are clean and both windows and film are wet.
Beware. Installation may require a lot of working bubbles out of the film. It is not hard, but it takes time, about three to five minutes of working them out of the film until they stop reappearing. Some of this is due to the installer's ability to work with the film. Like with anything the more often you work with the film the knowledge on how to install it becomes clearer.

Buyer beware
This tint looks and works well but the description says it’s static… this is not static one this is adhesive. I ordered another one that was static in a different size and the static one is a lot thicker and no clear liner. Super aggravating since I specifically wanted static so I can easily remove it when I move out of my apartment. They need to update their description.

Cool Product
Moved to a new house in an area where you need to run the air conditioner a lot during the day. I was looking for a product that would cut down on the glare coming in the windows to help me cut the electricity costs. After looking at my local home improvement store and finding they were perennially out of stock, I found this here on Amazon. Reasonably easy to install (how-to videos are on youtube). The visual evidence of its efficacy is pretty stunning. Looking forward to seeing the electric bill as the house is noticeably cooler where I installed it. Now I need to get more in order to do a bunch more windows. Highly recommend it, and that is BEFORE I have seen the first electric bill with it installed.

Previously Used/Returned Item
The first thing I noticed was the box containing the window film. The box was in rough shape. When I removed the film and was preparing to cut the film to size, I noticed that the leading edge had been previously cut. There was no “factory edge” as referred to in the installation instructions. I did not unroll the film completely to ensure that it was actually 15’ in length. I’m assuming that someone had purchased this item, cut a section off and returned it. As I unrolled the film I also found several dings in the film that I suspect would not smooth out during the installation process. I am exchanging this item for the same product in hopes that I receive window film that has not been previously used.

Saved me $$ on cooling!
My house has a lot of exposure to sunlight. I put up shades, curtains, etc... but nothing could keep some of the rooms cool. Then I applied these films to the windows and, like magic, everything got a lot cooler. With all that being said, it cost me a few feet off of the first roll to figure out how to install it properly. And this stuff ain't cheap! If you're going to do the installation yourself, you need use a LOT of water to keep the film from sticking to anything before you get it on the windows properly! Also, it's best to do the install with two people.
