I bought this product about 2 years ago in the base always falls off if that tip is broke the whole thing shatters do not recommend this

Excellent well constructed product. Used this to make sun tea and it got up to temp very quickly in the afternoon sun. Second use was for heating water for some of the patriots dehydrated food and again this fit the bill perfectly to have a nice hot meal at camp with little to no fuss.

This kettle is a little small for me but it is made from quality materials and heats up fast. It has really saved me a lot of power at my off-grid home.

I bought this a few months ago when it was on sale. Today December 29th I decided to try it out. The good news is that it does a good job of heating water. I put it in the sun and in just a little over an hour the water was definitely very warm, another hour and the water would be very hot. Oh, did I mention, the outside temperature was mid 30’s. That is the good part, the not so good is the hinges are very fragile and broke easily. Problem solved with duct tape, so I see a future use of this heater. Also the stopper is finicky to put in, wants to cross thread.

I love mine. When I first tried it I was not impressed. I thought it wasn't working, but when I went to open it the top was very hot. The water in it was not boiling hot but it was very hot . I only had it out for a few hours,

I was kinda skeptical about this device. However I was soon taken in by this simple technological marvel. I put it out on a cool day about 65 degrees with a low angle winter sun. I walked off and forgot about it. About 3.5 hours later I remembered I left it outside after the sunset. I retrieved it and took a temperature reading on the glass on the outside of the water reservoir it read about 55 degrees. I opened it up and took a reading of the water and it read 155 degrees. I closed it back up and then took another reading an hour later and was reading 110 degrees. So you ask does it work? Yes it does. My only con is the personal version of this water heater only holds about a small water bottle full. There is a larger version as well you can purchase if you want more water. In my personal opinion it was worth every penny. It’s one of those things I would rather have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

I only bought one of these so I could try it out as there were quite a few reviews that stated that it did not heat the water as expected. I placed mine in the sun around 9:00 am. I left it there for about 2.5 hours. Note that it was about 75 degrees when I put it out there. When I went to check on it, it had steam coming out of the vent at the top. I will warn you to be careful when picking the unit up at this point. I touched the palm of my hand to the vent and it was very hot. I did not check the temperature of the water, but when I poured it out in the sink it was steaming. I would recommend this product. If you have more than one person that you intend to use this for, I would get another one. This unit does not hold enough water for more than one or two servings for many freeze dried foods, but its plenty for two or three cups of coffee or tea. I plan to buy one more.

Great product, but after buying it I saw a large spike in spam from nutter conspiracy theorists, right-wing loonies and get rich quick schemes. I guess the name of the company is a give away given the state of American politics these days. Nevertheless, I recommend the product.

When i received the product everything’s look fine. I wanted to use it, I opened it and the glass inside was broken. The return window is closed now.

The design of the carrying handle is neat, and the kit is lightweight enough to be genuinely portable. Getting the top on and off is tricky until one has acquired the knack. Capacity is c 400 ml, if you heed the instructions to leave 2" space at the top for steam. My experience, however, is that even in a couple of hours in early-afternoon sunshine the water temperature rises by not much more than 30 degrees Celsius - has certainly got nowhere near boiling point.

purchased this product a few months ago and had to rebuild the hinge pins ( Plastic} several times. Unit materials of a very poor quality and it takes quite a while to heat water and can't really cook food. I also have 3 Gosun Go Solar cookers And 1 Gosun Sports which are fantastic I've rated them 5 stars. the 4 Patriots Sun Kettle is not worth the money. Better off spending a little more for a much more superior product
