Is it okay to iron the stamped fabric before starting the project?

There is no need because the fabric is quite stiff and the colors may transfer to the iron and mess things up. As you work on it it becomes softer and it becomes easier to handle it.

The pattern is simple but the instructions are terribly confusing . I have done cross stitch for years and it was confusing to me. If she had an experienced adult to help maybe. I would wonder if it would put her off from sewing😬
