CAP Barbell 2-Inch Olympic Grip Weight Plate, 2.5 lb, Set of 6 Black

Excellent

As a competitive powerlifter for 22 years and now at the age of 71, backing away from the larger weights was a must. These plates now allow me to apply lighter weights to my workouts while reaching 150 reps in multiple sets ..6. Excellent workout moving forward. Great product!

I ordered two 45s, two 25s, four 10s, four 5s, and six 2.5s. According to a scale I purchased purely for this purpose, the actual weights are as follows: 45s: 45.3, 46.1 25s: 24.99, 25.22 10s: 10.24, 10.33, 10.34, 10.42 5s: 4.99, 5.08, 5.17, 5.18 2.5s: 2.48, 2.48, 2.48, 2.51, 2.57, 2.59 Lowest variance: -0.8% Highest variance: +4.2% Average variance: +1.6% Those are pretty typical variances, unlikely to have much of an impact in weightlifting. At this price point, one could expect much worse. The paint job is imperfect, but acceptable. The finish is rough in small spots on some plates, but can be smoothed down or ignored with a pair of gloves. The handles are very convenient, especially on the 45s. All of the plates fit well on my equipment. All of the plates arrived double-boxed with foam and plastic packing material. There was no damage. I don't see anything better for the price. I will likely buy more.

Great quality

This is such a great value. These weights make it so easy to challenge myself and up my weight, but safely and a little at a time. They fit on my rack perfectly, they can also be used/held by hand for exercises if need be. No issues with any of them arriving chipped or broken. They were packaged very well and look great!

Perfect addition to my home gym. Great buy.

EDIT: Lowered stars to 4 of 5 because the silver paint on the numbers has not dried after months, and it gets on my fingers almost every lift. My original review is still below. To start off the new year, I got six 2.5, four 5, and four 10 pound CAP plates to add to my growing collection. They are all perfect for my use. GOOD: The overall feel of the plates is great. I have been using these for over 2 months now, and I have zero complaints. Putting six 2.5 pounders in a bundle (instead of four) was a nice idea. BAD: The paint is not always accurate, but it is good on most. Some of the silver paint from the numbers transferred to my hand at first, but I think it finally dried. I also noticed on a single plate there was a small, sharp burr that I was able to snap off before it became a problem. END: In the image, you can see each size along with a 10-lb Fitness Gear for comparison. I did not weigh any of the plates to confirm they are the correct weight, but if you are into that level of detail, these are probably too cheaply made for your purposes. If you are an at-home gym rat like me, these are fine for most uses.

Perfect for that extra bit of weight. Sometimes you need that 2.5 pound weight. Easy to use and fits only olympic bars.
