Monoprice 6inch RCA Female to 2-RCA Male Digital Coaxial Splitter Adapter

I bought two of these adapters to connect one computer audio output to two amps stacked on top of each other sitting on a shelf above a desk. This was in a friend’s home to drive one pair of speakers in his office and another pair in his master bath. Using two amps allowed total freedom to control volume, balance, and frequency spectrum independently for the two sets of speakers. It also allowed choosing speakers without worrying about ohm ratings since inexpensive amps with A/B switches simply run them in parallel, which could overdrive and damage the amps if two pairs of low ohm speakers are run simultaneously. I used one long stereo cable which had a 3.5mm connector for the soundcard output on one end and an RCA connector for each channel on the other end. The right channel RCA connector then connected to the tail end of the “Y” of one of these splitter adapters, then each of the split RCA connectors attached to the right channel inputs of each amp. Same for the left. Therefore the audio signals are always live to both amps. It worked perfectly. I know I could have accomplished this with a single high-end amp which has independently controlled zones, but that would have cost more and would have been much more complicated to control. This is a much cheaper and simpler solution and it works perfectly. These splitter cables are very high quality but are extremely stiff – be aware of that when choosing them for your application. The stiffness did not cause a problem in my specific scenario, but I don’t understand any purpose for making them so stiff. The stiffness seems to be a result of a very heavy shielding layer. Adquirí este adaptador para mi subwoofer y la verdad no esperaba que fuera de tan gran calidad se que monoprice se dedica a fabricar cables pero nunca pensé que fueran tan buenos de este momento en adelante comprare monoprice para mis equipos de audio. lastima que en México no existe una pagina de donde se pueda adquirir de forma directa
