Great product !
I purchased a large quantity for our use at our hunting cabins and in the field. Works great with one stick fractured in half to make two is all you need to start a fire quickly. In the field I carry this every where in my fire kit and have never had a bad experience in starting a fire quickly in all conditions here in MN, MT and AK. It shines in cold and wet weather when a quick fire is needed and harder to achieve. I use this with good fire prepping prior to lighting this. Shaving of this product along with your dried kindling and use of char cloth and steel, or fire stick and steel is all you need. If you have the ability of dry matches or lighter so much the better. We have used this product again with great success in the winter camping and wet weather conditions in the BWCA and other areas or upper Midwest. I highly recommend it. One word of caution is if you are using this a lot in starting your wood stove or fire place in your home or cabin it will increase the amount of soot in your chimney and you should be aware of this. More is not better, use sparingly and you will get good results in the starting of your indoor fire and reducing the amount of soot in your chimney. The amount of pitch in the wood is the culprit to the increased soot issue.

Nature's candle
These are longer than Duraflame's brand, so they could be cut into thirds and still work. I will cut them in half since I use them to light real wood fires and it works better on each end instead of one long piece. If you use these to light fake logs or kindling you would only need 1/3 of a stick. Value is best on Amazon, 2 dollars a pound and they're a good variety of sizes, all around 1/2 an inch to 3/4 an inch on average. They light extremely easily and burn for a good 5 minutes per inch. Great for lighting a wood bbq for burgers or steaks, since Pine Resin is non toxic, at least compared to briquettes and lighter fluid.

Great for starting fires in wood stoves.
A wood stove is my only viable source of heat, and these work quickly and efficiently to start fires. Good product.

Missing Product. Possibly opened during shipment
Giving this product a 4 because I have used it so often and love it. It makes me happy to start a fire in our fireplace. No struggle. However, the box that arrived was unmarked (missing the usual brand logo), was half full and loosely packed as though tossed randomly in the box (not the norm), weighed a little over 3 pounds IN THE BOX (ordered 5 pounds of starter and the attached label reads 5 pounds), was mildly crushed, and was partly open but had been retaped.

Good, consistent performance.
I’ve been using fatwood sticks for decades. There is definitely a variation in quality in the options available. This product performs quite well, lights easily with one match, stays lit and burns completely. I always split the sticks in half or more to get more mileage out of the quantity purchased and they burn better when split. Such is the case with these. I got a good price on a large quantity box . A good move as it will carry through this season often lighting fires twice a day. One split stick is all that’s needed

Yep, it's wood... and it's fatty.
You don't even need simple tools to accurately identify this is high quality fatwood. Incredibly useful for fires, I mostly utilize fatwood at the beach in firepits and such, as park troopers over in SoCal come runnin (for great reason, mind you) at the first sign of smoke. A little goes a long way, take some shavings or a small feather stick off a stick if you're dealing with slightly damp wood. Personally, I love the scent of fatwood. I collected my own last time I was up in the mountains and kept it in my trunk in a little box. Not overpowering, just enough that my friends/family/significant other thing I use a nice woody air freshener. Being able to simply buy some off Amazon saves me some time collecting but takes some of the fun out of it all. Alas, that's the trade-off. Definitely recommended if you currently can't be bothered or don't have ready access to collecting your own.

Heart Pine - Works Great
When I was a kid we heated our home with a wood stove. I'm glad we don't do that now, but I do like to burn a fire in the fire pit from time to time. As a kid my dad would send me out looking for what he called "rich pine" or "heart pine". This was the hard middle section of a dead pine tree that remained after the rest rotted away. So I would walk through the woods looking for downed and dead pine trees and, using a hatchet, would chip away at what was left to see if there was any rich, heart pine there. The scent is unmistakable and it lights up like it would if it were dipped in kerosene. This is basically a box of neatly packaged rich pine sticks that work great for starting fires. Just light a match and it ignites and stays burning while you get your fire started. I normally light two or three of these and build a teepee shape with them and then start placing small sticks on top. They work great and a box lasts a long time.

Simple, saves time, and gets that fire going in a hurry
We live in northern Idaho where we get some serious weather. Every fall, my boys spend the weekends splitting wood, and getting it stacked + ready for the winter. But, we never forget to stock up on these kindling sticks too. They are a life-saver. They save time, money and get our fireplace going quickly. If we ever run out, and it's cold, we don't tend to wait on matches + paper. So, we'll end up using a propane torch, which is a huge waste of money and resources. Torches are great for other more important uses so we'd rather not waste them on getting a fire lit. No, these Eco-Stix are the best option, and for a great price. They sit in a box next to the fireplace (pictured) and we never run out! It’s a tradition now for my husband to order them every fall, so we are stocked through winter. Thanks, EasyGoProducts!!
