You can find out about the Serman Brands philosophy on their website (www.sermanbrands.com). Under their frequently asked questions, they directly address the question of where their products are made. You can find this information at: https://www.sermanbrands.com/pages/customer-care#design. Quoting from their webpage: "Sernan Brands is determined to work with the most talented people we can find around the world, no matter where they’re from. Currently, makers in China and India offer the best balance of quality workmanship and value we’ve been able to source, so this is where all of our products come to life. We understand there can be concerns when manufacturing in these regions, so all of our suppliers must comply with a strict Quality Control Guide." I hope this helps. I love their products. Both that I have purchased meet my needs and perform as described. I will likely keep ordering from them, as the need arises.

1) what kind of leather is this made of? 2) can i remove the plastic window from the id slot?

I don't know what kind of leather it is made from, but the 'tan' color leather is almost a very lightly 'brushed' leather. Not a shiny/smooth leather and has slight imperfections in it. Personally I think it's very nice and gives it a unique character. The plastic window cannot be removed.

Very good product!

Very sturdy, good quality leather. And for your information, all the pouches are RFID protected, even the one that has clear display windows (still unable to swipe on terminals).
