CORSAIR RM Series (2021), RM650, Fully Modular Power Supply

Super quiet and low heat output. I installed this in a gaming pc 5 years ago and love it. Zero issues

This was my first time upgrading a power supply. I thought it was supposed to be easy but the cords were different. The old one used 3 4 pin connectors to power the motherboard. Corsair doesn’t come with 3 4 pins so I freaked of course. But After some research I only needed to use one 8 pin, everything powered up nicely and is nice and quiet! Can’t wait for my 3080 to come in :}

When I purchased my last computer, I was a little disappointed that it only came with a 650W power supply. I mean, come on, the GFX card needed 600W alone! Well, this item solved my problem. It was easy to install and you only hook up the cables you need, so your build looks a LOT cleaner!

This PSU was slightly longer (as indicated) than any of the ones I've had before, and it was a bit of a tight fit in my Corsair 4000D mid-size case. It worked out fine, but I had to plug in all the modular cables before inserting the PSU itself due to the tight fit to get things in there nicely meaning I'd have to take it out if I needed to plug in any additional cables in the future.

I had a 10-year-old Corsair CX600M PSU, and I was trying to run my new RX 6800. It ran, but there was terrible coil whine from bothe the PSU and the GPU. It was giving me a headache. I upgraded to the RM850, and the PSU coil whine is gone. The GPU coil whine is almost entirely gome now too. It's very quiet at least and is at a tolerable level.

The PSU won't work unless you use the cables that comes with it. I used some extensions that are incompatible with this PSU and that's the reason I thought that wasn't working.

Like its modular setup along with its 850W rating, dont have to worry about using this PSU all the way. The box was damaged along with its wrapping but everythings here and working.

Corsair power supplies are one of the best in the business!!! Easy to wire, last for years and years. I just replaced mine after 8 years! That's a long time!!!

Très bon psu dans le top de la liste LTT. Dès la prise en mains on sent bie que ce n’est pas du bas de game comme un Aresgame. je l’ai eu à 149$CA la il est monté à 179$ le même prix que le RM850X donc le X est le meilleur choix à ce moment là. C’est un psu qui as été testé et retesté pas ds reviwers indépendants qui on l’équipement et l’expertise donc on peut faire confiance. Le seul hic les câbles sont rigides à manipuler et les pcie sont doubles j’aurais aimer des simples vu que l’on as de la connections en masse. Ca aurais été plus propre à câble manage avec ma carte qui prend 2x8 pin + 1x6pin. Parlant de connecteur pcie il se tienne pas bien en 8pin le 6 pin retient le 2 pin dans le connecteur mais ne se clip pas ensemble c’est une galère à brancher. Pare contre le 8 pin cpu qui est 4+4 pin lui est parfait. Il est 100% silencieux à bas régime vu que la fan arrête et à haut régime il reste un des plus silencieux que j’ai eu. J’avais un 750w bronzé Aresgame et mes overclock cpu/gpu étais très instable pour de bonne température après avoir changé j’ai pus dépasser tout ce que j’imaginais avec stabilité sur une configuration Ryzen 5600 et 3070ti.

The one thing I didn't like about this psu is that it had no markings on the cording for the psu side. I've had other psu's that label psu for the psu side. It's not really a big deal but for others who may be building their first computer it could be very confusing and potentially even damage other parts. I recommend that if you don't know what you're doing please watch a video before or while installing. This psu comes with no instructions either.

Running solid for over a year with no problems...

Nothing to like or dislike. Corsair PSUs (like EVGA) are reliable, quiet and efficient. What more can you ask for? I wouldn't buy less than 850W and always go for Gold or better for energy efficiency and quality.

I didn't read off-site reviews so I didn't know this is the older version which uses Chinese capacitors. The "x" version uses newer Japanese capacitors which supposedly eliminates the coil whine, so I'm RMAing this and getting one of those instead.
