It's a curse) - and have never liked using flat irons except when I must when doing a keratin treatment. I had heard about straightening brushes but also heard about the difficulty of getting close to the scalp. Straightening combs are a non-starter for me - they are notorious for ripping out hair.The shape and configuration of this peaked my interest, so I decided to purchase it. I'm happy that I did!I washed my hair and used this the second day when my hair was thoroughly dry. I don't blow-dry dry my hair because I look worse than the Cowardly Lion when I do, and then I have to both flat iron and curl. But it air-dries and curls nicely.I'm not patient with it comes to using tools, so I was happy to find that this was easy to use without making microscopic parts in my hair. I separated it into four bunches and just went through each section carefully (for me). It took me less than 20 minutes to do my hair, and this is with spending a little extra time on the "difficult" sections. I didn't want it stick straight, just looking less like "bed hair." It allows me to get close to the roots around my hairline where a lot of my most difficult hair areas reside.I can easily recommend this and am glad that I purchased it. For me personally this brush straightener partially straightened my hair giving me more of a blown out look so you'd still need a pair of flat irons if you're looking for a sleek straight look, but with my hair texture its really thick so that could have played a factor. It doesn't come with any tools that help clean out the bristles so I'm currently trying to figure out how I can do this without damaging it.
