Varathane Premium Fast Dry Carbon Gray Wood Stain

Love this stuff. Great color and quality

For what I desired to acccomplish, it only took one application of product to gain the results intended. This was applied to a 1 x 4 x 8 poplar wood board that was lightly sanded. Applied with a lint free cloth. Boards are being used as door rails (to prevent drywall damage). Color of wood stain board incorporated a wonderful accent piece. So much so, that I have decided to replace the original partical board bar counter with a 2 x 12 x 7 woood plank that will be stained the same color.

This is the perfect dark grey! I used a spinge brush to stain and a dry microfiber rag to wipe it off and it looks perfectly rustic!! 👌🏽

Everything was quite easy to apply and didn't need conditioner. The dry time was quick enough, which was also nice. The color in general was a little darker than expected when looking at the picture on the can, so if you want it lighter, you might need to thin it down and leave it sitting for a much shorter time. We did tests at 2 minutes, 4 minutes, and 6 minute sitting times. The color was very similar between all of them, but the sanding results were quite different. The 6 minute sanding looked the same as non-sanded, but 2 minutes had a decent amount of bare wood show through. So depending on what look you want, that would affect the time.

It's a really nice weathered grey, dries fast and this little tin was more than enough!

Good coverage, easy clean up, being water base, no smell

Very thin and watery. I will need more than one coat. I like the charcoal gray color. Once I apply another coat I'll review again.

They are good for new surfaces. If your staining on old surface, sand out the old varnish completely otherwise you'll get a synthetic paint like grey.

The color does not stick to the wood at all even after sanding

I do a lot of DIY and do this paint was perfect , easy to apply , match the color I even used sponges and clothe to paint , furniture turn out really well

The product is awesome. Fast drying and as per my expectations even better than that.
