Works great for original 2600!
Works! Powered up my 2600 with no problem. Extremely lightweight. Peeked inside and there's a small converter board instead of a giant transformer that you'd expect. Seems like a lot of wasted space, imo.

Decent replacement
Honestly this is a decent replacement for the Atari 2600VCS...tried a few other PSU and none of them can match the clean power output that this unit provides. Certainly for the shape & size this feels like it's 75% air with minimal components inside (see the other reviews on here to images from teardowns) but I personally testing this on multiple Atari 2600VCS units and I can honetly say it's a decent replacement for the OEM PSU if you need one.

It works on my Atari 2600, but the fit is loose.
I bought this to power a new to me Atari 2600 I bought off of marketplace. The adapter works as it should, but the fit in the power connector on the back of the Atari is very loose. The original adaptor fit much more securely. That being said, I'm able to use the Atari just fine, as long as I don't move the console too much.

Smashed
Everything was smashed before it was packed. Packaging had no damage, so this happened before it was packaged and sent to me! Garbage

Better than the Atari original!
I love my old school Atari 2600 Video Game System. Sure, the graphics and game play are pretty basic compared to modern video game systems but they remain fun and are so much easier to control the on-screen action than the complex controllers found in modern game systems. My Atari is decades old but was still playing great until the power supply died. Got probably 40 years use out of it so no complaints. Amazon carries this replacement power supply for a reasonable price so I thought I’d give it a try. Not only does it do the job, but it is actually better than the original because it is rated at the same 9 VDC but 850 mA versus just 500 mA. The original was 120 VAC, 60 Hz (U.S. standard) but this works on 120 - 245 VAC, 60 Hz making it usable in other countries with that electric standard. It is somewhat larger but actually lighter weight than the original. The only potential issue one night encounter that is the power cord is approximately 4 foot long versus 12 foot for the original Atari unit. As the 2600 has wired controllers this may be a minor placement consideration for any new placements. So far I have used this for several hours continuously without any issues, it barely gets warm. Highly recommended!
