Things to note, Mrs. Potts eyes don't close 100%, more like 80%. It's not a defect, I've tested about a dozen. The lid can be tough to remove and put back on, especially for little hands. The sugar bowl is easier to use. The lid snaps on, so it doesn't keep falling off. A real plus in my book Chip is on a "wobbly" saucer and has a little notch in the bottom of him, there's a round thing that sticks up from the saucer to click him on. My son is four and his fine and gross motor skills are great, but he struggles to get Chip on the saucer most of the time. The spoons are very delicate and attractive. Overall this is probably one of the most attractive children's tea sets I've come across. The plastic is somewhat translucent and the gold paint is flawless. You defiantly couldn't put water in these as it would likely ruin Mrs. Potts. This is for imaginative play only, but my son has never seemed to mind.
