The XboxOne and SeriesX/Series S seem to have a stop gap adding storage. (12-14TB can be added to these Consoles) If you want to play SeriesX/SeriesS games you'll need a SSD Card (Only 1 and 2 TB) both a bit expensive But, in a sense worth it. Your Library/Game collection will tie into how much HD Space you need **Q: do you have to select whether the Xbox uses the internal or external drive when you are loading up a game? or will it find it automatically?** A: Bought the S yesterday. Found out X/S only installs on the internal drive or the expansion card. Backward compatible will be run from an external hard drive. 3.5 Tb of games uninstalled due to picking which ones I wanted to upgrade. The USB ports on the console will now recognize external hard drives up to 2TB per slot, and two 2TB hard drives can be used simultaneously giving you 4TB total if you need it.
