SIZE: 18" X 17" or 46 X 43 cm CONDITION: Needlepoint and Lace Trim are in Nice Vintage Condition OPTIONS: Purchase pillowcase separately or with Down/Feather pillow insert (except for international purchases) DETAILS: Pillow is fully lined, freshly laundered and strongly reinforced at the corners and insert sleeve to ensure quality craftsmanship. Most vintage fabrics show minor use or imperfections which add to the patina and authenticity of the piece. Dry cleaning is recommended. STORY: I found this preworked handmade needlework by Buscilla on eBay. The ballerina was accompanied by a male ballet dancer separate needlepoint. Both still had their original tags attached and once sold for $2.50 each. They are old and I'd date them to between 1940-60s. The detailed needlework is superb, as you can almost see her dress swirl as she turns on point. Buscilla is a 100+ year old company and well known for exquisite needlework canvasses. A "preworked" canvas has the main design already stitched and the purchaser fills in the background. The dancer in this pillow is preworked with an unfinished background and the pillow price reflects this fact. However, this one-of-a-kind custom pillow is professionally designed and stitched and displays the ballerina beautifully.
