I just don't want it to get waterlogged** A: This is a great cushion but it SOAKS-in water like a sponge! I have no idea why other respondents are saying otherwise. I have to twist and wring the cushion to squeeze-out the water every single time I use it in my kayak. It is definitely NOT water-resistant, waterproof or anything like that. **Q: Will this seat prevent monkey butt?** A: Yes, but monkeys should not be rowing kayaks. **Q: If the kayak tips over, dies it float?** A: Yes it does float in the water **Q: Is the size large enough for 6' man?** A: Interesting question. We vary a lot in size back there. Here's an engineer's answer. You would have to know how wide a distance his butt covers, then compare that to the width of the cushion. A bit concerned it may soak up water, but the cover has great traction. Much better than I expected. It’s lightweight and a good thickness. I plan to use on my stand-up paddleboard. The one con I see (other than potential water absorption, if applicable) is that it doesn’t have a strap to secure a wrap around a kayak or SUP seat. Instead of the small loop it has it would’ve been nice to see that. You don’t really need it with a kayak necessarily, but if they wanted to make it usable for an SUP it would’ve been very helpful.
