Great production slate, but remember...
Bought this for run and gun film making. In all honesty, it's a decent product. Some of the screws were a little loose, but easily tightened back down. It doesn't erase the best, but it works great for a part time or a beginner production slate. One thing everybody needs to know when they buy a clapper, do NOT use white board eraser fluid on them. It will erase the markings. Use a soft soapy rag to wipe the board down, and then a microfiber cloth to finish cleaning it. Or, just use tape instead of dry erase markers for the information. Works great for what it is, I believe it's worth four stars for its price, its quality and its use. But, it's definitely not for your professional, every day for six years, type of work. Just to get you started for a year or two, with maintenance here and there.

Included marker is NOT for dry erase board
Marker that came with the clapper DOES NOT ERASE - even with rubbing alcohol. I finally got some off with acetone, but that took off some of what was pre-printed on the board. (see photo: the "INT" is gone now). On the marker itself it states clearly: "Erasing Whiteboard Marker" (see photo) "Easy Erasing. Bright Marking. Without Ghost." Even if it's just the wrong marker, that's what the board came with, and now after trying to remove the marks, the board is ruined. Very disappointed.

Okay for the Price
It's just what my teenage daughter wanted. It's not particularly sturdy, but it's not falling apart yet. We've used white chalk markers on it and if you erase it when you're finished with it (as opposed to leaving it for days) it cleans pretty well with minimal ghosting behind.

Should be better
I recommend that if you want to use the clapboard in the real world (more than a novelty item) tape the entire face of it with clear tape. Otherwise the marker will not erase causing frustration. Obviously the item was not tested with the marker / eraser that is sold with it. Or if it was tested they figured it didn't matter and put it on the market anyway. Nice, huh? Also, check the screws - they're probably loose. Careful not to tighten them too much or you'll strip them.

Fun to have when a serious clapper isn't available, but it's a pretty cheap thing. Rivets were falling out the first day.
