Great lather, needs small adjustment time
I am allergic to coconut so I thought this would be perfect. It has awesome lather but then rinse felt waxy. Looked it up and completely normal with so many chemicals in my hair. I did do a baking soda wash to remove more chemicals quicker and this helped. I am in my fourth day and my hair is still “different” but getting a lot better. I also do a acv rinse which also helps. This morning I did a little jojoba oil and lavender eo for the dry ends and that made a huge difference as well. I do not have greasy scalp which I have experienced before with natural shampoos. I also wash everyday. I will definitely continue to use this bar soap! Thank you!

Awesome soap. I’m allergic to so many different chemicals ...
Awesome soap. I’m allergic to so many different chemicals commonly found in soap so it has been a real challenge to find one that didn’t give me any issues whatsoever. That is until I found this line of soap. Simply brillliant.

Allergy-friendly.
Expensive. Appreciate the lack of coconut or other nut oils, as my daughter is allergic to those. She has eczema as a reaction, and it causes dry, flaky skin in her scalp, plus rashes on her body, so this has been just lovely to use.My other note is that because it is an "allergy free" (or allergy friendly) soap, there is a bit of an unpleasant odor - but that just means that it is a fragrance-free bar.It has been worth it for us. So why only 3 stars? The expense. I spent over $15 for 2 bars of allergy-friendly soap. I need to buy many of these bars, but can barely afford one bar, much less 2. I'll keep saving up or learn to make my own soap...but am so grateful to have found this product.Updated: After my daughter had a severe allergic rash reaction to handling dish soap and/or fabric softener (we were fixing Barbie's hair), I realized just how great it is to have this soap. I added an extra star. We used desitin to fight the rash, and she took 2 zyrtec. The next day, I made her take a shower. She used this soap, and it did NOT irritate her skin or cause another reaction.

Updated reviews (previously Pleasantly suprised by this chemical free soap)
Update: I had to deduct 2 stars. On my second bar, had the same allergy as I have to coconut. If youre not allergic to coconut, it remains a good bar. But if you are, a quick check of the genetic relatedness of babassu (which i did after the allergic reaction) shows they are very close, so you may also (eventually) cross-react as I did. Original review followsI was skeptical since i've seen so many claims that don't prove to be true. It really appears to be free of all "saponified coconut oil" and other coconut found in nearly all non-toxic soaps. All other "castile soaps" are made from coconut. It is also scent free and I don't see any junk in the ingredients. This is also only the second soap I have ever been able to use on my face and this one is less drying and much less toxic so is the only one I use now for everything. still waiting for something horrible to happen but its been a few months already and all is well. I only tried using it as a shampoo once so that's next on the list to try more carefully. The folks over there are really nice as well and answered a bunch of questions on ingredients and made some good suggestions. Hope they stay in business for a long time.

Not good if you have porous hair, left residue
I bought this because I am battling unknown scalp hives for aboit 6 months now. I considered that coconut derivatives might be the cause. This made my hair feel like coarse straw and I couldn't get my fingers through it during rinsing. I had to split sections to rinse it well and I feel like I rinsed thouroughly. I have soft wavy hair that gets frizzy through the day so I usually set my part in the shower and scrunch some water out of my waves so they dry uniformly. Using this method for the past 8 years has given me soft touchable waves after my hair fully dries in about 6 hours. Suffice to say once my hair dried I was unable to run my my fingers through it. It felt gummy and waxy. When it was wet it felt squeaky and brittle, when it dried it felt like it was coated in tacky residue. It still felt tacky after I washed ot the next day and let ot dry. I also used it on my face and my face had a horrible tightening feeling after my shower which tells me it stripped my skin and was drying. I also still had hives however I'm not basing my score on that. 2 stars because the soap cleans skin well enough that if you have a coconut allergy, it will work for skin but I'll never put this in my hair again. I'm willing to admit as well that my hair is very porous and might be holding on to product but the fact that it took two shampoos to remove completely was stressful and disappointing.

No skin issues with this soap
I really like this bar soap. It suds up nicely and my skin feels nice, no residue left behind. So glad it’s allergy friendly. I’ve tried other soaps because I couldn’t find a coconut free one and I broke out in a rash. No issues with my skin since using this.
