Hello,
All of our cosmetic products are developed, manufactured and packaged in accordance with the laws, regulations and guidelines for cosmetic products enforced in the countries in which our products are sold.

As a German manufacturer, we, Dr. Babor GmbH & Co.KG, comply in particular with the applicable EU legislation and, since our foundation in 1956, have never carried out animal experiments in the manufacturing and development of our cosmetic finished products and also use safe cosmetic raw materials for our products that comply with these legal requirements.

Animal testing for decorative finished products has been officially banned in Germany since 1986, and in 1998 this ban became binding for cosmetic finished products, too, with the EU following suit in 2003. Since 2009, the testing of individual cosmetic ingredients on animals has also been banned throughout the EU. Since 2013, a general sales ban also applies to the EU territory for cosmetic products introduced on to the EU market after March 2013 that have been tested on animals. These requirements are legally binding bans that apply to all cosmetics manufacturers in the EU without exception.

The fact is that a ban on animal testing has not yet been imposed in all countries worldwide. In China, for example, the authorities carry out animal experiments with cosmetic products before they are permitted to be sold on the respective national market. Here, consistent progression and support is required, among other things, of the political initiatives of the European Parliament which aim to achieve a worldwide ban on animal testing for cosmetics by 2023.
