Product description fibroDAO is a Food for Special Medical Purposes (FSMP) indicated for the management of fibromyalgia, muscular pain and contractures, osteopathic pain and chronic fatigue caused by deficiency of the enzyme DiAmino Oxidase (DAO). It is also indicated for the management of gastrointestinal, dermatological and muscular pathologies associated with DAO deficiency - Contains highly active and bioavailable DAO enzyme - Includes magnesium as a coadjuvant active ingredient in the management of symptoms caused by DAO deficiency - 60 CAPSULES with tablets with Gastroresistant Coating and EFICAPS Technology for Controlled Release of Active Ingredients. Foods for special medical purposes, as distinct from food supplements, are foods specially prepared or formulated and intended for the management of patients, including infants, under medical supervision, to meet all or part of the needs of patients whose ability to ingest, digest, absorb, metabolise or excrete normal foods or certain nutrients or metabolites thereof is limited, or impaired, or altered, or who require other clinically determined nutrients, and where management cannot be accomplished solely by modification of the normal diet. In the management of DAO deficiency, it is advisable to reduce the intake of certain foods due to their high content of histamine or other biogenic amines that saturate the DAO enzyme, particularly cow's milk, dairy products and citrus fruits due to their habitual recurrent consumption. It is advisable to avoid alcoholic beverages as they contain histamine and other biogenic amines to one degree or another, and alcohol is also an inhibitor of the functional activity of the DAO enzyme, which prevents the metabolisation and degradation of histamine. Ingredients Microcrystalline cellulose and hydroxypropyl cellulose; magnesium oxide (magnesium); potato starch; Glazing agents: ethyl cellulose and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose; Pork kidney protein extract 7% Diamine oxidase (DAO); rice starch; Stabilizers: magnesium salts of fatty acids, sodium alginate and stearic acid; Medium chain triglycerides and oleic acid; Glazing agent dicalcium phosphate; concentrated apple, black currant and radish, spirulina and apple. Vegetable capsule: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose fibroDAO. Per 1 capsule: DAO: 0.3 mg Magnesium: 80 mg Directions Take 1 capsule with a little water 20 minutes before the main meals (3 times a day). The capsule should be swallowed whole, if you cannot swallow the capsule whole, you can open the capsule and swallow the tablets inside separately, swallowing them whole without chewing, splitting or breaking. If you can not take magnesium (lilac-colored tablets), you can open the capsule and remove the corresponding tablets. I rely on DAO to keep my histamine levels down, I thought I would try this version as I do have fibromyalgia but unfortunately the magnesium used is not tummy kind at all. This cheap magnesium 'oxide' gives me the runs and painful stomach ache. Very disappointed.

Very prompt service and pills easy to swallow and clear instructions inside packaging. I cannot review the actual effects of the product just yet though because I only started taking them today. With this kind of product, any type of relief or therapeutic effects would be gradual and only noticeable after a significant period of usage. In addition, this type of product is useful as an adjunct to myriad of orthodox, unorthodox and complimentary medicine/therapy or lifestyle changes which people, such as myself, have to undertake to control or manage fibromyalgia. Therefore, I've left the pain relief score blank at present and will return at a later date to review this product in more detail. I've said 5 stars purely for excellent and prompt service. Also for clear instructions in the packaging and easy to swallow tablets. It's unfair to ask for a review when only taking for one day. I shall review again at a later date.
