Love it!
Great machine! Works well with our small kibble. After figuring out that it’s in military time (not anywhere in the direction) it was pretty easy to set. Love that when we’re gone for long periods of time our dog will be fed.

Automatic cat feeder versus crafty raccoons and opossums.
So I bought this cat feeder for a feral cat that we have tamed up and now is pretty friendly. We feed her on our covered back porch where no rain can reach it. Sometimes we go on trips and I needed a proper way to keep feeding her without asking neighbors to help out. We have our share of raccoons and opossums that sometimes visit the back porch so I put this automatic cat feeder inside an old bird cage. I made few modifications including sawing a small opening out on the base of the bird cage to allow the kibbles to fall into the cat bowl. I also mounted the bird cage to a 3x3 piece of painted plywood and put a few bricks on top of the plywood board. So far it works well and no animals have disturbed the cat feeder. (Added note: I can unclip the bird cage from its green base to add food or make adjustments to the feeding schedule, change batteries, etc.) Things I like about the actual automatic pet feeder itself: 1) easy to set up feed times and amounts. I set it to feed the cat once a day at 9:00 am every morning and the food portion amount is set to 11. It’s probably more food than one cat can eat but I wanted to insure she has enough. A setting of 9 or 10 might be better but you can adjust to your size cat. The trick is really not to leave food out at night that will draw in other animals. 2) the cat feeder allows for quite a bit of cat food to be stored in its tank. 3). The recording that plays when the food is dispensed is a nice fun touch. Seems a little soft sounding so not sure my cat even hears it if she is off the porch 4) I like that you can put three size D batteries as backup if the power goes out and the corded power is unavailable. 5) affordable price and fast shipping. 6) small enough to fit inside a bird cage. lol. This is our first trip away testing this unit so I am still making adjustments because I know raccoons can reach their paw/hand up inside a certain length so I might have to make the food drop opening harder to reach up inside. I have a camera watching the unit. Will update this review as necessary. 10/31/2025. Update: automatic feeder still going strong! No issues.

EDIT: Still no complaints, and it's been over a year. These feeders are super dependable and have still not been broken into by my hungry hippo of a cat. For people who need to feed different amounts, here's what I do. My siamese needs 7 portions while my tabby only needs 5. My siamese is also a voracious tank who cannot be stopped once food hits the bowl, so I just make sure his feeder goes off first by having the timing on each be a little off (eg: his feeder says 4pm a minute before my tabby's). As long as his goes off first, everyone gets their proper portions and there are no problems. Cheers, folks. ORIGINAL: I've never had an automatic feeder before. But, a trip out of town necessitated it for my two cats, so I finally bit the bullet and bought this one. Here's what I needed most: -The right portion sizes -Feedings twice a day -No-fail operation (battery backup, no jamming) -A bowl that stayed put I carefully combed through the reviews before deciding on this brand. I will admit, programming was a pain in the butt. With two cats, the feeders need to go off at the same time or else my fat siamese will absolutely eat half of his, then when my other cat's feeder finally goes, he'll go eat hers, leaving her with half a meal while he got one and a half. I had to very carefully set the time on this. Be warned - it uses military time - there's no am/pm switch. Don't overlook that fact like I did! Second, the portion sizes are trial and error. I have a specific amount I feed these fatties, so I had to really measure out what "1 potion" was. Currently they're set to "5 portions" twice a day. According to Mochi, my perpetually hungry flamepoint siamese, this isn't nearly enough food. This brings me to a pleasant surprise about this product: The locking lid feature. When I first saw that, I thought, "oh well whooptee-doo, seems like overkill." Wrong. The second picture is of his bite marks all around the lid because he figured out where the food is stored in there and he desperately wants it. Both feeders are covered in his bite marks. So locking lid: absolutely essential. Also, the bowls lock in place, which is a must for desperate cats who will lick bowls across the floor (or in my case, laundry room counter). And, these feeders have battery backup in case the power goes out. Super handy for my part of California! Overall, we love these. They're set to feed at 7am and 4pm. When the food hits the metal bowl, the entire house knows it. Mochi peels out, running into walls and leaping face-first into the cascade of food coming out of the chute. It never gets old. :) My female cat is a bit more dignified; she prefers to wait for the food to stop pelting the bowl before she starts eating. We've had these for about a month now (maybe 2?) and have no complaints. Once I got the interface sorted out (save the instruction manual, lol), they've worked flawlessly since. As a first time automatic feeder owner, I'm very happy with my purchase. Will update if there's a problem, but I don't foresee that happening. Cheers, folks.

It works!
I have it set to go off four times a day with various amounts (I account for treats and one meal of wet food). I can't remember exactly but I think a single portion of dry food on the machine equals 7.5 grams. Its on their website which you'll find 8n the package on a card. Now this thing goes off when it wants. The last meal is supposed to go off at 10pm. The first at 7am. Ive heard it go off at 12 am and like 5 am. It still gives the correct portions and only goes off 4 times a day so its fine really but does go off at random times. Is it worth cintacting and getting a replacement? Not really, mostly because its plugged into an extension cord and electronics in general can become wonky if not plugged directly into a power source. Im also too lazy to plug it directly into a wall to see if thats the problem lol She still eats so thags all I care about. The two middle meals go off at the proper times, which is another reason why I believe it to be a power issue, at night and early morning the AC is on and devices are being charged. Its very easy to use and put together (its literally like a few pieces that stack and slide together) and recording the message was very easy. Love that it can use a battery which I suggest because I've had a random power outage and knowing my baby didnt get to eat until the power came on sucks. Bowl quality is fine if you don't put ANY liquids in it. No medicine, no water and no chicken broth. By a seperate little small bowl for that. This bowl isnt made for liquids, as the metal wore down after I put my cats liquid supplement in the bowl. I knew better but was in a rush. At least wipe it down IMMEDIATELY if you have to. Despite my issues I still recommend it. Sure you can find better and MAYBE cheaper options but this is fine and does what its supposed to.

Great Feeder! Here's an Easy Weather and Racoon Resistance Solution for Outdoor Feeding.
Great Feeder! Here's an Easy Weather and Raccoon Resistance Solution for Outdoor Feeding. I purchased the VOLUAS 4-Litre feeder to feed a few of feral cats who also invite their rowdy friends Mr. Opossum and Rocky the Raccoon. Rocky in particular has really bad table manners as he will eat the entire bowl of food, with nothing remaining for the cats or the poor little possum. Feeding multiple times over the course of the night with the VOLUAS automatic feeder elegantly took care of that. I manually fill the bowl at dusk when I put the feeder out, and then the feeder is set to dispense 4 meals over the course of the night, so that even if the raccoon consumes a whole meal, the cats and possum will come by later on and still get fed. (I set up a wildlife camera and found that this process works very well, with the whole menagerie well fed and happy.) I had but one problem: It rains a bit here in South Florida, actually it rains a good deal, in fact, it rains so much that I'm building an ark in my spare time! I couldn't find a feeder that was weather resistant, but came up with a very easy and inexpensive way to remedy that. A five-gallon bucket from either the blue or orange big-box store is easily modified to cover the entire feeder, with only a small opening for the bowl to protrude. It's like the engineer who designed the feeder had this in mind; that's how well it fits. The feeder is both protected from rain, and protected from the destructive effects of direct sunlight. If you set the feeder up in a remote location, the bucket makes it very easy and comfortable to carry the feeder and bowl back and forth to the house. Note: This works for the 4-Litre style, the larger feeders won't fit. If you'll examine the photos, you can see that the only modification to the bucket is to make two small vertical cuts with a hacksaw from the rim, then score horizontally with a utility knife. The piece then easily snaps off, and the modification is complete. I suggest placing a heavy weight (The concrete frog in my case.) on top to prevent the bucket and feeder getting tipped over, and to further secure the food storage compartment. The VOLUAS automatic feeder works great, I can only think of one wish, and that would be to add a "Bypass" Button so that if I want to skip feeding for a day or two, I can just put the unit in Bypass until I want to begin the feeding cycle again. This is a small nitpick, not a complaint, just a wish for the future. Bottom line: I give the VOLUAS automatic feeder a full Five Stars for both price and functionality.

Indestructible!
I don’t write a lot of reviews, but this feeder deserves a great one. I purchased this last summer to feed my cats while I vacationed. I had someone coming in to care for them twice daily but the cats are used to getting small meals, 4 times a day. This feeder is easy to program and has several portion control options, but the main reason I came back to write this review is its durability. We left this feeder on our screened porch for our outdoor cat and we had TWO raccoons break in to try to raid it. Our camera revealed that they rolled it, drug it around by the cord, jumped on it, and clawed at it for over two hours but they were not successful in opening it. It has a few scratches here and there but it’s working perfectly! The battery backup even kept all the settings for two days. Impressive feeder!

Excellent Automatic Feeder for Spoiled Cat and Picky Cat Dad
Recently after getting my cat Milo fixed, he’s grown a bigger appetite and wants to eat more than ever. He’s started waking me up SUPER early in the morning for food and won’t let me go back to sleep until he’s fed, no matter how much I try to ignore him. I also tend to have to go out of town frequently for business trips and since my partner accompanies me since they help me run my business, we have to rely on available friends and family to watch him. So an automatic feeder sounded like a good idea between being woken up before the sun and having the added bonus of making sure he gets fed while we’re away in case whoever watches him does not have time to stop by 3 different times throughout the day. I am an older Gen Z cat dad who treats my pets as most people treat their children. I only want the best for my son, Milo, and I’m very picky on quality of things when buying him anything (food, treats, toys, etc.) so I spent awhile trying to find a good cat feeder. I was a bit iffy about spending so much on a cat feeder but I decided to trust the reviews. The quality of everything so far has been excellent. I appreciate the locking mechanism as it’s easy to use but is cat proof so I don’t have to worry about him breaking into the food. I like that the stainless steel bowl is removable so it’ll make future washes a lot easier. My cat has had some minor cat acne on his chin from plastic bowls harboring bacteria and fats and because of this, it was important to me that his next bowl was steel and not plastic. I didn’t really understand the setup at first, but once you realize you need to press AND hold the lock button to set it up, the rest is really easy. I think the voice feature is cool, and though I haven’t used it myself yet, I like that it’s there in case I want to use it especially if I’m gone on a trip I can pre-record a message for him. It’s pretty quiet, doesn’t make a whole lot of noise when dispensing food, only a small whirring noise and the food clinking the bowl while it pours out. I especially enjoy the battery option as a back up in case the power were to ever go out, this is again something important to me as someone who has to go out of town relatively frequently. My very small minor complaint is I wish the manual said how much food is dispensed per portion, as you kind of just have to test it. Please be sure to test the portions using the “hand”/“feed” button before setting up portions per meal to ensure you’re feeding your cat the proper amount as I can guarantee you 1 portion is not as much as you might think it is. As far as value for money goes, I did get this on sale and while I think it was still a little pricey compared to other options, I personally don’t mind spending a little extra to ensure my cat has a good quality product especially for something as important as being fed. Overall, my cat is still learning and understanding exactly what it is and how it works, but he’s slowly starting to understand it and starting to enjoy it. I have peace of mind knowing that once he’s used to it, I will no longer be woken up at unreasonable hours for food and have peace of mind knowing that his care while we’re away is a little more ensured when it comes to making sure he’s fed properly. The setup is relatively easy and the design is nice and has a lot of features I find to be important and beneficial. If you’re looking for an automatic cat feeder but are iffy about spending the money, I think the money is well worth it for a good product.

Reliable
I now have two of these in operation and they work very well. Easy to setup, use and clean. I’d give it five stars if the meal announcement speaker operated with a louder volume. (A machine I used for years previously was far better in this regard.)

This automatic feeder has been operating for several weeks now, very easy to set up.
We chose this cat feeder as it fit all the requirements that we were looking for in an automatic cat feeder. It is very easy to operate, and to leave a message on the audio. Straightforward filling the container with dry cat food, timers set for specific amounts of food throughout the day. Our cat runs to the feeder when the dry food starts dropping into the bowl, and he sits back, politely, until the portion has stopped and then he will politely proceed to eat. We have had the feeder operating for several weeks now and it seems to be working out fine, and we are all pleased with it.

No app, US only plug
It needs to be configured with the tiny LCD screen, no app. Would be fine for $50 but doesn't compete with the others at the same price point

Bon produit.
