Kakuri Japanese Router Plane
A real nice and inexpensive router plane that works great and it's easy to use! This is my fifth Japanese plane and I have been them quite extensively in my furniture projects. A good solid plane for the money!

a great sholder plane
This is listed as a router plane, which I suppose it could be used for cutting grooves, but it especially excels as a sholder plane. The blade is reasonably hard, it flattens and sharpens properly and holds a good edge. Once the blade is inserted into the body and properly set, it holds in place and cuts marvelously. This is a very good, comfortable plane.
