Although these are called "appetizer" tongs, they are perfect for serving dinner. Don't be misled by the photo of the tongs holding a cherry tomato -- they're compact, yet sturdy and large enough to pick up asparagus spears, slices of meat, etc. The large cooking tongs I used previously worked fine for serving, but they weren't especially attractive on the dining table. A pair of these stainless steel, dishwasher-safe tongs at the price I paid on Amazon.com was an amazing bargain. The Progressive "Appetizer" Tongs are not only FUNCTIONAL, but the "X" and "O" design is FUN! XOXO (Yes, I bought 2 sets.)

These are so handy, and I should have bought them years ago to round out my tong selection. My favorite feature is their size. They are not too small like another set of mini tongs I own. These are great for having people help themselves to veggies, olives, pickles, cheese, and more. Nice quality, do not seem flimsy or like you could bend by accident. Very pleased with purchase. I would recommend these for sure.

Great quality. As previously mentioned, these are pretty small. I try and put them with whatever we don't want people loading up on--the expensive food. It takes just enough time and effort to make people move on rather than shoveling food onto their plate while others wait and stare. When serving food for my family, we don't bother. Pickles, cheese, tomatoes...people just grab them with their hands and move on. When serving food for my in-laws, they are a must. Just the sight of someone putting their hands in a food dish in a buffet line at a family event is enough to make some of them gag (if not audibly). If we have something that needs bigger tongs we...ummm...use bigger tongs. Not a big deal.

These are the perfect size for buffet or appetizer use. They are sturdy enough to handle entree appetizers, such as buffalo wings or baby back ribs, yet small and decorative enough so they look like serving utensils and not cooking tools. They have a nice springy-ness to them that feels sturdy, and the brushed steel finish on them keeps fingerprints from showing. My half star deduction is based completely on personal taste rather than utility. I would have liked them to be styled more simply without the "cute" X&O cutouts. I will admit, I'm probably noticing the XO more seeing them side by side - - - when they're actually used and placed on platters scattered around a buffet table, it probably won't be noticed at all. I bought 2 sets of these, along with 2 sets of the vegetable servers (similar, but just about an inch longer) by this same maker and am very happy with all my purchases.

Perfect for serving those little snacks and appetizers when you have people over. Way better than using a fork for olives, or a spoon (or fingers!); lets you get just one at a time. And surprisingly, there just doesn't seem to be that many choices for these kinds of tongs. Also got a bigger tong at the same time ( RSVP Endurance Small Stainless Steel Serving Tongs ) but I like these the best. Warning: if you're trying to be like Martha Stewart, though, don't get these, they are way too casual. If you want something more formal, go to Dillard's or something (good luck, because I couldn't find anything at about 3 different stores).

I use these to pull toast out of the toaster oven... and even the rack out of the toaster oven. They are just handy. Stainless steel and dishwasher safe. Could be used with appetizers... pretty anything you need small tongs for. I always update ,my reviews with useful info.

These tongs work great and look wonderful on any serving platter. I use them often when I set up a salad bar for guests. The wash well, too. I especially like that the design matches two other types of small tongs from the same company; it pulls together the overall look of the buffet table.

If you entertain only a few times a year you will still be amazed and how much you have a need for these. I bought my first set at a local home store and I used them so often that I added this set to my collection. Taco night, dessert buffet, apps- you name it, you wil use these all the time. People always comment and ask where I found these, so I'm actually thinking of picking a few sets up to have on hand for gifts. It's something you wouldn't maybe buy yourself but if you have- you will use all the time. LOVE this product. I bought the other "style" of these in my first purchase.
