1st class latch
Why did you choose this product over others?: Tried others but the latches were not smooth. The internal part of the latch is not finished but as this is not visible it isn't important so please don't let this put you off. The action was very smooth and the latch bolt fully recessed into the housing. All visible parts look excellent and was easy to fit with all required screws and face plates etc. Would highly recommend this. Build quality: Excellent

Product photos inaccurate
These don’t look like bad quality latches, but there appear to be a few different latches pictured in the product photos, and none of them exactly match what I received, and you have to cut the sealed bag open before you find that out. Photos attached to hopefully save someone else the bother. Hole next to the spindle is quite wide so should be compatible with a range of different handles (which is what I was looking for) but the latch bit is an odd hat shape so doesn’t fit my current faceplate, and the included rectangular faceplate doesn’t fit the oval cutout in the door (I rent so can’t visibly drill the door). Ended up just having the hole on my existing latch drilled slightly bigger to fit a new lockable handle. Also the strike plates don’t match the latches they’re included with, they’ve included very wide ones for latches with separate deadbolt type locks, seems like a bizarre choice to include it with this small regular latch with no lock.

Slightly too large to be a straight replacement.
The latch was slightly too large to be a straight replacement for the failed old one. Managed to enlarge the slot in the door for it with some scraping out and time, and knocked it in with hammer. This resulted in the item being a millimetre or two higher in the door, so refitting the door furniture then needed adjustment as the screw fittings could not meet without cross-threading. Being slightly larger therefore turned a 5 minute job into a 45 minute job.
