It is extremely soft, as well as thick, without a whole lot of stretch to the fabric.And that, dear reader, is where we had some issues, aside from the ridiculously HUGE hood.The hoodie went over Fred's head just fine, but because there is little to no stretch in the fabric and the fabric allotted across the chest between the front legs and across the back woefully small, it was a real task to get the hoodie on Fred to begin with.In an attempt to shrink down the hood a bit, I washed the hood portion only in my sink and hung it to dry. It's cold here this morning but the sweatshirt kept him warm when he went out to potty. It has some stretch so it was simple to put on. It's a nice thickness and will last for quite a while. The pocket on the back cracks me up. It's a legit pocket but it's not like anyone can use it.
