These are the best couplings to use for hose repair. Very easy and secure. In my case, the heat damaged the end of my hose where it was exposed to the sun and attached to a water wand. I simply cut off the damaged section and used the coupling to provide a nice new end to the hose. No leaks!

Put this on in June (it's now August) and it was ok for a while. Water is now leaking from under the collar and spraying from the base of the metal adapter. I might be able to re-tighten the screws on the collar, but that shouldn't be necessary. I'm still a fan of this style of hose fitting repair kit, but I would look for one with multiple ridges on the metal neck that inserts into the hose itself. You can see on the listing photos (4th picture at the time I'm writing this), that this one is almost a smooth pipe that inserts into the hose and is then clamped by the zinc collar. It's ok, but if I can't tighten the collar enough, I'm either going to have to go buy another one, or deal with this spraying leak.
