Made in China. I’m very pleased with the quality and function of this toaster.

Was this made in the US?

Sorry, can't answer that as I cannot locate my receipt, I can say this it is a very attractive item but not pleased with the performance. You have to flip the bread when toasting and it still does not completely toast the bread. Needless to say it doesn't perform any better than a toaster from Walmart for under $15.00

Can toaster be plugged in socket if not in use?

Instructions indicate it's best to unplug the toaster when not in use. I store mine in the cupboard so have to unplug it.
