I’m 67 years old and have just started to get into strength training. I bought these to help me strengthen my arms and shoulders enough to use heavier weights. I’ve been using these for several weeks and I am very satisfied their quality. They are easy to hold on to as opposed to bags of beans or water bottles which are often suggested as good weights for beginners. As the photo shows, they each weigh 1 pound.

I bought these for my toddler so she can workout with me. They are very cute and durable!

These are very comfortable to hold, and are non-slip. The 15#ers work great for lighter/ high rep work, and things like lat raises. Green is a decent, neutral color.

These weights are pretty much as advertised. The coating seems to be both sturdy and rough enough to make gripping easy. They were less expensive than other competitive hand weights, and as such do everything that the more pricey ones do; they're just simple weights with no moving parts, after all. Out of curiosity, I did weigh them on a digital scale. One weight was 497 g (1lb 1-1/2 oz) and the other was 509g (1 lb 1-7/8 oz) [For reference 453.59 g = 1.0 lb]. This I suppose was a good thing. If we had received a nominal 1-lb weight that weighed less than a pound, we would have felt cheated somehow. For someone, particularly an elderly person, or a person recovering from hand/wrist surgery/injury, these are convenient and simple. For a person with a compromised grip for instance, these shaped and coated weights are much easier to grip and to hold onto than say a water bottle or some other object of similar weight.

I’ve been happy with this purchase. Feel great. Fun colour. And motivated a wee workout this morning. UPDATE:: After a few workouts I’m even happier with these. Instead of a slippery coating these have a bit of a textured surface that makes them great for those sets where your hands get a bit damp and you really need to hold tight (think over head lifts/holds) Really worth the money. I wish they had a heavier range. I’d buy a couple more of them like 10, 15 and 20lb sets.

The color is not the light purple, but blue. The quality is fine.
