Similar to raw linseed oil, our Boiled Linseed Oil is a superior quality oil that has been treated with hot air, so it dries more quickly, forming a tough and hard-wearing finish, imparting a natural lustre. A traditional treatment that is suitable for use on all wooden surfaces (except exterior Oak), and can also be used on all porous stone, terracotta tiles and metal. Boiled Linseed Oil penetrates and seals the surface, providing protection for all interior and exterior surfaces. It provides an attractive, long lasting, and slightly glossy sheen. Compliant with Articles in Contact with Food Regulations, Boiled Linseed Oil is also ideal for the treatment of wooden furniture and utensils used in the kitchen and dining areas, where contact with food, spills, and exposure to water and other liquids are a frequent hazard to unprotected surfaces. Linseed oil is extracted from the seeds of the flax plant and then boiled to produce a high quality wood oil.

A: No it is not, it contains metallic drying agents. Food grade mineral oil is likely your best option.

**Q: Can I use on my new acacia wood patio furniture? Do I need to sand if it’s new?**
A: It really depends on the furniture you bought. Usually finished furnitures have a finish coating on them or are already oiled. I would suggest you to sand them before application.

Remember that furnitures previously oiled might not look good if you re-oil them with a different type of oil than the one previously applied to them.

**Q: This could be used on outdoor windchimes to protect them?**

Thank you for your inquiry regarding our Boiled Linseed Oil which is a product used to seal and protect all types of wood (except exterior oak), table tops and food preparation surfaces, cricket bats, snooker cues & musical instruments, front doors & outside furniture, terracotta tiles, concrete and other stone items. Unfortunately our Boiled Linseed Oil was not made to work with plastics.
