I absolutely love this chocolate. It’s great for dipping treats like Oreos and pretzels in. It melts easily without adding anything to it and it does not taste chalky like other melting chocolates I’ve tried. Please take note though to not buy from the seller “Cosmic Autophagy”. This was about my third order of this brand and the first time it came from the seller, as it was the only seller available at the time of my order. The chocolate arrived in a massive plastic bag with no labeling, and the bag was opened with no sealing. I immediately contacted Amazon and was refunded and disposed of the chocolate. The first two photos show my order that was from “Cosmic Autophagy”, the third photo shows how the chocolate normally comes.

I have a friend who owns her own bakery, and she recommended Merckens chocolate as the best. I have used it for over a year now and it is absolutely delicious. Its low melting point ensures that you don't scorch it, and once you've heated about one minute, it's time to start stirring. Heating and stirring every 30 seconds after to let it continue to melt, depending on how much you're melting, and you are sure to end up with the best tasting chocolate possible because you haven't overheated it. I've used it to make chocolate/peanut butter Buckeyes and Dubai chocolate with rave reviews. It also melts beautifully and dries slightly shiny for eye appealing candies!

This was my first try at tempering chocolate, and it came out great. The flavor is more of a 4, but it is excellent for the price. Still a lot better than store bought candy bars! I made fondant ahead of time, and used most of it on another project, the left over, I added some marachino cherry juice to the melted fondant (it also has invertase in it, so my candy will have a liquid center). I prepped my mould with a layer of chocolate, and then added the fondant mixture, and then topped it with more chocolate to seal the liquid fondant inside the chocolate. It helps to have your mould on a cold pack so it solidifies quickly, to keep your chocolate thicker on the sides of the mould. This would be excellent chocolate to use for boozy sweets.

I love this product for making chocolate bars! I make stuffed chocolate bars for family and friends and the texture of this chocolate is amazing once it sets and it's glossy. We absolutely love it!!!!

Not even close to chocolate. I bought the same product last year and it was fine, but this year I used the same exact method to melt the "chocolate", and it wouldn't even come close to melting. So, I used a different, hotter method - and still nothing. Even a couple chocolate bits that accidentally fell in the boiling water wouldn't melt! So I then placed the chocolate in a pyrex and placed it in the oven. Eventually some started to burn, but still wouldn't melt. At no point did any liquid chocolate form, just a weird oily paste. The "chocolate" was then left at room temperature, where it also never fully re-solidified. I've melted chocolate on plenty of occasions to make various treats, and I've never seen anything like this in my life. Don't waste your money - they do not accept returns of any kind.

These arrived today and were packaged so very well! Ice packs in with the chocolate was wonderful, especially since they sat on my porch in the sunfor about an hour before I returned home…

Merkins is the best tasting, easiest melting chocolate wafers ever! Rich and creamy chocolate for barks or dipping fruit. Worth it!
