Powerful and good quality
Comes with scarifier and rake attachment. Well packaged. Easy to assemble and does the job!Made really light work of raking my lawn. Haven't tried the scarifier attachment yet but it's a sturdy beast and the motor didn't flinch when raking.

A good machine but not perfect
I've had this for nearly 3 years ago and so I'm in a good position to assess its performance. It's a beast of a machine, powerful, and a good size. The scarifier works well, although, as another reviewer commented, the scarified material isn't directed into the collecting box at quite the right angle and so it doesn't get a chance to fill up properly. So I don't use the collecting box, preferring to rake the lawn afterwards. To be fair, scarifying tend to produce lots of material, and with other scarifiers I've used I didn't bother with a collecting box either as you end up stopping every few seconds to empty it.To use as an aerator, you swap in the aerator bar, which has meaty blades instead of wire teeth. Purpose-built aerators use hollow tines to punch out cores from the soil; these blades slice into the ground and it's a bit like ploughing. They will make quite a mess of the lawn so you probably don't want them too deep, and it's worth testing on a bit of lawn before you commit to doing the whole thing. One issue I had is with long thin twigs from overhanging trees (esp a weeping silver birch) wrapping around the scarifier bar between its end and the bearing holder (the one you undo to swap the bars). If material gets jammed here, friction heats up the bearing holder which unfortunately is plastic, so it starts to melt. Fortunately I noticed the smell and stopped before too much damage was done (see photos). I think this is a design fault, and it should be made of metal. So be aware of this possibility.Overall, it's still a decent machine.UPDATEI contacted the manufacturer about the problem with the plastic bearings, asking how I could prevent this happening. After many emails and a month's wait for a response from their technical department, the only advice they could come up with was "clean it out after use". Wow, I wish I'd thought of that. Of course, the problem is that it happens during use, so this advice isn't actually a solution. Just be aware.

wonderful lawn scarifier
This is an excellent product. Easy to use and works very well. After 1st use had 5 bags of rubbish. My only complaintis that the lead could not be any shorter that it is, the lead needs to made longer.

Excellent machine
Well designed and built. It made a real difference to our moss filled lawn and was very easy to use. The pick up bag does fill quickly but with a wheelbarrow near it saves time raking.

Impressive
I didnt expect much from this little scarfier. Its cheap and on cord... but it impressed me much. Its powerful, you can plough your lawn with it if you want. In Ireland we have a huge moss problem (very humid climate), so scarifying is a regular must if you want some grass around your house. I used to rent large petrol scarifiers every year but it got so expensive I decided to try this one (it was cheaper than renting a scarifier for a weekend). Sure pulling a long cord around is cumbersome esp with a large lawn, but you get used to that, the upside is huge. The maching is light yet very powerful, it drags you with it. It works very well, I got rid of all moss in spring (2k m2 of lawn) and have a great thick grass now. Same time its small and light you can carry it with one hand and just hang it on a nail on the wall.
