Aside from taking Biotin capsules daily, I also drink coffee & tea, both infused with Collagen and/or Biotin, I hadn't found any one specific drink or product to help me to stop losing so much of my hair. I lost approximately 50% of all my hair within less than a year! I tried so many different products, home remedies, old wives' tales, etc., just to try (at the very least) to get it to stop thinning, doubting that anything would truly help me to possibly grow more hair back again. Although it could be a combination of the different remedies I have been faithfully using for a while now, there wasn't any noticeable difference (to me) until after nearly finishing my first bottle of this shampoo & conditioner. My hair finally stopped falling out, plus, I am getting some tiny whisps of hair growth again at the temple and underneath the back of my hair. This product also seems to make my hair look & feel much healthier, and stronger, with a gradual return to some of the thickness I enjoyed for so many years. Although the price is a bit more than I believe the set should be priced at, and because my husband & daughter also share these hair products with me, we consequently, run through both products a bit faster than if it was only just me using them. Thankfully, the price does include both the shampoo and conditioner in pump-style containers. It still seems like it should be at about $20 less overall for the set, than the current asking price, (I believe a cost of about $20/bottle, or $40/set would seem to be "reasonable and fair" to me, given that each item would still be priced at about double the cost for regular (non-salon) shampoo & conditioner. However, as long as I, and my family members, continue to get reliable, positive results, I will just have to pay for it at the current price ($60,) or search for another brand that is more reasonably priced. I found this set of hair products to be an effective way to at least stop my hair from thinning, and no longer going through that seemingly unstoppable, hell. Not only hair loss/thinning (affecting self-esteem), but also dealing with frequently clogged shower and sink drains, hair-filled brushes after each use, falling out in single full strands, including the root, and finding a number of strands on my pillow every morning, etc. I obviously cannot guarantee these products will have the same positive effects for you - as they did for me, so I am not responsible if anyone purchases this set based solely on my review. ***written 2 months after purchasing and using MY STORY: After I underwent foot surgery/general anesthesia, I started losing clumps of hair left and right. I am a healthy 23yr old woman and have also never colored or treated my hair - just hair dryers and heated irons. Before surgery, I barely lost any hair so I was really concerned. I took Biotin, Vit B, and Vit D supplements everyday help but they didn't seem to do ANYTHING. My hair was falling out when I just moved my head. I estimate that I lost approx. 50 strands of hair per hour - and I'm not being dramatic. I bought this shampoo and conditioner as a last resort. After just 2 WEEKS (used 2x per week), my hair stopped falling out gradually and by WEEK 4 it stopped COMPLETELY. I am completely back to normal. I contribute this to the shampoo and conditioner bc my doctor said I'd continue hairloss for 6 months after the surgery. But after using these products they stopped. QUALITY: The first difference I noticed after using it was that it actually made my hair healthier. It was notably softer and silky. I noticed this after 2 uses (1 week). As mentioned about, hairloss affects were noticed after 2 weeks. SMELL: The smell is fine and I've gotten more used to it. To me, it smells like chicken-flavored ramen (probably bc it has ginger and other similar ingredients). But it's not a super strong smell and, of course, it fades.

I ordered this shampoo and conditioner based upon the ingredients and, yeah, the claims. Even though I know that most claims for this sort of product are overstated, at best. After ordering, I read a slew of reviews complaining heartily about the scent and greasiness. So that's what I'm going to address. The scent? Well, if you liked the old Ojon Restorative Leave-in, you might like this. It's not the same scent, but it's the same type or profile. Sort of smokey, sort of woodsy and sagebrush-y, reminds me of a campfire in the high desert. One complaint I don't understand is that it's overwhelming. It's no more strongly scented than other shampoos, and you can barely smell it on the hair once it's rinsed and dried. I guess that, if you don't like the smell, then it's going to seem more powerful than it is. On the greasiness front, this product must be rinsed THOROUGHLY (more thoroughly than your usual), or yes, it goes greasy. But when rinsed thoroughly? It's not as greasy as other shampoo/conditioner combos I use. There were complaints about the pump, and, while it works fine, it is a wimpy little thing that only puts out a little bit per pump, so you've got to pump it a bunch of times to get enough product. Now, the big thing--hair growth. I've only been using it for about a month, and I don't see any difference, no rush of new growth, which I didn't expect. What I do feel is that my hair feels and looks thicker and stronger, as if the hair shafts are more substantial. A nice bonus? This shampoo/conditioner combo brings out my curls and waves beautifully, in a way even the "for curls" shampoos don't. Normally, one brushing and the curls are gone until the next time my hair gets wet. They bounce back with this product, which makes me happy. In all? I don't know that this shampoo and conditioner will actually stimulate my scalp and make my head sprout more hair. I'm skeptical. But it does make my hair look/feel more substantial, and I like the smell, plus it brings a little bounce back to my hair. So overall, I recommend it.

I wish I could give this shampoo and conditioner 10 stars!! I’m seeing a lot of little new hairs growing on the top of my head after using this product for 2 months. BUY IT!! Shampoo for 2 minutes and condition for 2 minutes each day and let it do its thing.

First, the smell is not overwhelming, I agree with one of the other reviewers who stated if you don't like the smell it probably smells much stronger than it truly is. Also the scent is not Ginger, it's Turmeric. I make syrups of each from fresh roots, this is absolutely Turmeric scented, which I personally find rather delightful and wish it stuck with me. That being said, while it's a good shampoo, I've been a Cosmetologist for over twenty years, and any growth benefit people are claiming seems to be just a claim. I've used the entire bottle without any noticeable difference that couldn't be explained by more ready means. It's not going to cause hair loss, in my opinion, but don't expect miracles or drastic results.
