I have lots of sizes of chopsticks because many times in the kitchen you need something long and skinny to do something. I never use any of them as intended. I stir drinks with the small bamboo ones, and I find these super sturdy ones are great tools for mixing my jars of nut butters. They usually come with the oil at the top and have to be stirred, carefully, together and nothing was skinny enough and tough enough to do the job. These are strong enough, and skinny enough, and get the stuff mixed to the very bottom of the jar. I have used them to push lost items from behind places that are too thin to be gotten into any other way. They have proven to be the right thing in many an odd problem. They are very long and reach into places nothing else can reach. I sent some to my daughter and she's found them equally useful. I never use very much soap on any of my wooden things, just a quick rub under water, and dry.

I'm not bad with normal chopsticks. These are the deluxe edition and require a little practice to really be able to grab stuff with them. I was trying my hand at making General Tso's chicken, and while frying, I found myself wishing that I had something better than a fork for turning/retrieving my newly crisped nuggets. I remembered that chopsticks are also used in cooking, so I went and got my human-sized chopsticks and they made the rest of the boiling oil interaction much easier. I thought to myself, "these are perfect for frying" and went to Amazon to see if they had cooking chopsticks. $7 for 2 sets? Good enough for me. I've used them a couple times since arrival and they are perfect for stirring, flipping stuff while frying with oil, or if cooking with boiling water in a pot. The length keeps you from getting attacked by boiling splash droplets. They are straight and look exactly like the product photo. Still improving my grip but I am happy that I have these. Also great if I want to grab a piece of food from my wife's plate.

They get the job done. I have used them consistently for a few months now, and they have been a lifesaver in the kitchen. They are what you'd expect from cooking chopsticks. Pretty thick, long, and easy to grasp. Not terribly thick, enough to still be usable. Cleaning them is also easy, just need to be careful not to allow any soap to penetrate the wood. Vinegar is your best bet when it comes to cleaning chopsticks off. That being said, there is one concern. One of my chopsticks ended up being severely deformed. I am unsure if it was a fault on my end or the manufacturer's end, but it looks like a very spindly, weak boomerang grouped up with the others. This is not a major concern as the other straight ones are usable, however I would not make it a habit to allow any deformed products to go through. I highly doubt I would have caused such a severe deformity. There is, of course, always the small possibility that I did, but my point still stands. This concern, however, is not enough to bring my rating down significantly. They're good enough for me.

Conventional users of these Donxote Wooden Chopsticks will feel I have desecrated them by the way I've repurposed them. But hang on a minute and give me a chance: I'm actually a huge fan. I needed a long, heat-resistant stirring item for hard-core stirring of the hummingbird nectar I mix in tall, heavy, purpose-built jars at our New England home and in our Colombian campus apartment. Quality matters, not only because it's hard to find a product that will pull this feat off every week, but also because my fingers are at risk when this doesn't work. These are absolutely perfect! They're long, strong, narrow, and designed like they were made for this task. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they're great for preparing and consuming human food as well. But my hummers and I are over the moon that these things exist at this great price and we don't mind saying so.

I got these to try to make them the universal cooking utensil. Using them is as easy as using regular chopsticks. They're very nice and sturdy. HOWEVER, I am 5'2" and I made the mistake of getting the extra long thinking they would be better. The length puts my arms at weird angles to use them properly. Choking up on them works, but I do really wish I had bought a smaller set. If you're short, get a short set.

Great for frying food

I purchased these because my only pair of cooking chopsticks were 'bound' together, which made it very difficult for me to use comfortably. I was impressed with the quality of these, and at the ease of cooking with them. The first time out, I made tempura, which is prepared in bite size pieces. The chopsticks made the task much easier during the cooking process. They spent a good deal of time in very hot oil, but washed up beautifully with no damage whatsoever. If you are considering this item, please remember, these are COOKING CHOPSTICKS, meant to keep your hands a safe distance from hot oil, steam, etc. during the cooking process. These are not meant to be used for dining. While reading some of the reviews before I made this purchase, it looked to me like there may be some confusion about this.

I am using these chopsticks for putting small(er) pieces of food for frying into the pan. They are a good alternative to tongs which sometimes can’t pick up smaller pieces of food. The length of these chopsticks ensure that you don’t scald yourself with hot oil. They are also good as serving chopsticks eg in a hotpot.

The chopsticks are solid and working well. Truly a very functional purchase.

It is really well made and does its job. Using it for cooking, mostly frying stuffs. If you know how to use these it is super easy when used right.
