Yes you can use it for phone calls only. Thatll be in the settings of your phone. But depends on your phone if it will split and use 2 bluetooth devices.

No subscription needed to use this model. Does Bluetooth connections to other headsets or your phone for music and calls.

Q: will this work with a half hemet?

You can install the Spirit using Cardo half-helmet kit for Freecom/Spirit. You need to ensure the helmet has ear mufflers so the speakers will have their place.
